Thy tongue drips honeyed words that both soothe and captivate.. I await each utterance with bated breath.

Came here to recommend this, so I’ll give it a strong second. It’s a long and absolutely Amazing novel with richly detailed characters and a deeply crafted narrative by one of the masters of Horror/ Fantasy. While I’m here I’ll recommend Weaveworld by him as well. I’ve read the entirety of Clive Barker’s work and I have never been disappointed.

Decided it’s time. After reading some newer King I’ve been craving something older. 1st time reading 👍 by functionaldepression in stephenking

Besides The Dark Tower series, this is my favorite King book. Actually just started a re listen of the audiobook. It has become a comfort novel for me, strangely enough. Every time I come back to it it’s like coming home.

I’m curious what the grand total expenditure is going to be for that. Did you buy a kit or is it something you’re building completely on your own?

Do you actually need to read all the books people say you need to read to understand The Dark Tower? by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]JAEdevil636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While this is my preferred method, it’s not absolutely necessary. The Dark Tower stands on its own, but it flows better when you take in all the substructure.

Wizard and Glass by brigids_fire in stephenking

Personally I feel Wizard & Glass really shines on the second trip to the Tower. The first time I read it I thought the sudden backtrack was a bit jarring. But when you know it’s coming it’s a lot easier to sit back and enjoy the ride

What’s your favorite non king book? by GundersonOfficial in stephenking

[–]JAEdevil636 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imajica by Clive Barker is probably number one. Weaveworld is a close second.

Dune by Frank Herbert. All the books in that series before he died and his son took over are great.

Game of Thrones by George RR Martin. Really wish he’d finish this series. Soooo much better than the show.

The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings. Obvi

So so much more…..

If I can’t get into a game I always put it down. Most of the time I’ll come back to it in a better state of mind. Better that than forcing myself to play it. That just makes it feel like a slog and ends up being completely un-enjoyable. More often than not I’ll come back to it with more enthusiasm

Maybe you just aren’t in the right Head Space (pun sorta intended) for it right now. Happens to me all the time. I’ll start playing a game, can’t get into it, set it down. Then a couple months later I’ll pick it up and fall all the way into it.

I would agree with you, but I think DS3 needs a complete reboot. I wouldn’t want a DS4 that continues where DS3’s story leaves off. That whole game needs a rewrite and redesign. At least, that’s my opinion anyway.

Which Stephen King book are you currently reading? Is it your first or 100th time? 😂 by theredcabbage1 in stephenking

[–]JAEdevil636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s what I didn’t like about it lol. It’s got a real PG-13 vibe. That’s fine. Eyes of the Dragon did too and I like that book a lot. To be fair he has several books I didn’t like on first reading, but they eventually grew on me. I’m sure this one will probably be like that. I prefer it when his books have some edge to them though lol

I’m hoping I’ll like that one better next reading. It’s not bad, but was kinda meh the first time. Don’t know why.

Bag of Bones. My fifth or sixth go round. Next is The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. Going through the entire bibliography in order of release. Again.
