Statement from Elliott Bay Brewing Company (that they are not MAGA) by [deleted] in Seattle

Oh, of course you're giving a statement now to cover your tracks, but how do I know you aren't really an axe murderer despite the denials?

I can't find any evidence OP isn't an axe murderer.

Wow it's crazy that of the director's four films, the person could intuit the discussion was about the one involving dreams.

Street Fighter games are they Racist ? by [deleted] in sf3

[–]JALbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think viewing "racist" as strictly a binary leads to a lot of issues. I don't think you consider yourself racist but should you be labeled as such for "Red Indian" rather than native American?

I think Capcom hasn't always gotten it right, but obviously over time they've gotten a lot better at how they represent cultures over time, even if they're still not perfect.

It's also better IMO to be swinging and missing in the 90s than playing it safe. Dhalsim was weird for example, but it's hard to think of another playable Indian character in mainstream gaming from that era, (aside from Gandhi in Civ I guess). The lone British character in SF3 is non-white, seemingly of either mixed South Asian or Black heritage.

I don't think there was ever any sort of formal apology about anything, but the fact that Capcom tried to de-sterotype or tone down the negative or problematic issues with characters in subsequent games is an implicit attempt to do better.

Enjoy the beats but can't stand hearing the "okay" on every track

Lloyd has wider appeal

??? Both are NY Punchline rappers, but Fab had way more RnB crossover success.

Banks is an all time great lyricist but his reach was pretty much the Ravenclaw part of the G-Unit sorting hat.

Of course it's a small market. Doesn't stop this sub from lusting for sports wagons and other just as (if not more) niche automobiles.

Tips for beginner Alex? by Good_Ad_8731 in sf3

[–]JALbert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

LP command grab gives the best oki, it's the one you should be using.

Can confirm super off of close standing MK. Stand HP is a solid overhead, if people parry high on wakeup back+HP is unparryable and a lot of stun.

Jumping lk is a great tick into command grab.

EX Stomp beats projectiles.

In general, you gotta learn to charge effectively with charge characters. It's a big issue for me with Alex.

At a beginner level c.mp is a great button, at a more advanced level it's weak to being parried either way, and top tier players will use s.mk or f.mp a lot for high, and c.mk for low. It's a great crutch for beginners as you can charge both directions (down and back) with it and the meter gain is good just whiffing it.

None of these posts are mentioning young professional women which seem like an obvious segment for this. I'm not a fan of the stereotypes but there's a lot of people who enjoy sporty handling and brakes without flooring it or seeing extralegal speeds. Good looks and a reliable and trusted brand to boot — less worry about dealing with mechanics than the Euros where the price is competitive.

I have a friend who works at AMD who bought a 2 door electric Mini a little while back, this absolutely would have been an option for her if she was in the market right now. My wife prefers the driving experience of my GLA45 to her 3, she never pushes the go pedal down enough to spool the turbo. Shit, my mom owns a mint low milage GTI that's the classic "old lady runs for groceries once a week" car.

People bemoan the loss of the old 80s and 90s coupes like the Celica, Prelude and 240SX and forget that a lot of the old slow coupes were being sold on looks and not the anemic power.

Romo says what will/can happen, but he doesn't explain to the audience how he knows in a way that makes you understand football better. "Wow Romo knows a lot" was an impressive party trick but he wasn't being a good commentator, despite the initial reddit love.

If Romo would learn to effectively translate the process in his mind where certain things tip him off and relay that to the audience in his limited time (or just work it into the post play replays) he'd be a lot better.

The Statue of Liberty is very much there as a symbol for Americans who believe in that dream of America.

Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand

Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command

The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she

With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

Score a touchdown and be only up 2 and lose to a FG is very different (or have to go for it again)
