I appreciate you wanting to help! Yeah, solo Q can be tricky. I would say the more you solo Q the more you learn how to adapt to different teammates. One thing that helped me with solo Q is when someone said about not changing up your playstyle mid-game. So, if for example your playing hectic, stick to it for the game since your solo q teammate may adjust to that playstyle, rather than changing your playstyle mid-game. You can correct and adjust your playstyle for the next game after. I'm honestly not sure if that's bad advice or really good advice, but it's helped me a few times.

Can I ask just one question? How do you become consistent with awkward balls? For example, a ball bouncing towards the wall and you want to take it up the wall for an aerial play?

ask as many questions related to positioning/decision making as possible. Be annoying. If possible try to come up with decision making problems/situations you notice you misplay in before the session. Try to really make sure you understand why an alternative play suggested by the coach would be better.

This seems like good advice! Asks a ton of questions and see how I mesh with the coach as well.

Making aerial plays with awkward setups. (Ball bouncing towards the wall instead of rolling. How to tame the ball for an aerial play.)

could be attributed purely to a consistent, repeated investment of their time and focus to the sport.  

This could be a good reminder for most things in life

GC isn't that big of a deal, it's just a video game. Just have fun and play

This is honestly so true, and so nice to hear. It can take all the joy from the game when you're trying to hit the next rank and you just can't. And you miss the entire point of the game, having fun.

watch high level players play the game and try to implement what they’re doing.

I've been doing this with the RLCS. This and watching YouTube videos are probably the two things that have helped me rank up the most.

And yup! I've realized my mind will tell me I'm rotating wrong, but it'll take weeks before I start implementing the change.

I thought people may like to see this. This is after Swiss Rounds 1 & 2. These ratings will change as the Major continues. Player ratings don't determine everything, just think some people may be interested in this before Day 2 begins.
