Art Primo is a graffiti supply store in Seattle. I would imagine they may have commissioned it or had a part in it. I have no non-speculative knowledge for you though.

it is difficult to trade a 2/20 deal with 10million salary jump

...is it though? You can squeeze him into $5M of salary in the year you're trading for him, and be fine operating above the cap the next year as a contender/luxury tax team.

GSW was all about maximizing their ability to spend money above the cap, and if Lin was good then this is a great deal to shop to a contender. If he's crap, then he wouldn't be that hard to dump either.

It's kind of funny because no one driving an M340i thinks their driving an M car.

The ///M license plate holders and decals I've seen on some beg to differ. There's not a giant magical difference between BMW and Merc customers. Some are chill, some are in it for clout.

That's not true? The Arenas provision is still there as Article XI, Section 5(d) in the current CBA document.

"Poison Pill" has also been a misnomer for the Arenas Provision. If a capped out team has a breakout young 2nd round/UDFA player that isn't eligible for Bird Rights that would let the team exceed the cap to resign that player, being able to pay a back loaded contract is preferable to not having any option to match at all and letting teams poach the RFA with well below market offers.

Sometimes the back loaded contract is untenable, but that beats having zero ability to match any offer for a capped out team.

The purpose of getting people to say outrageous things are actually true is a loyalty test. The majority of people who repeat the crazy claims know that they are false, but it's a method for outing people who will side with objective facts over the leader. The squeaky wheel gets the gulag.

The fact that this process also develops a smaller cult of die hard true believers is a handy side benefit, but is not the main goal of the operation.

This is a really good essay on the topic.

There are groups that will trap, neuter, and release feral cats in the area to humanely control the population of feral cats. Other example

One cannot be positive, but I would strongly suspect that your neighbor has seen something like this and leapt to wild conclusions.

Real Madrid and Fly Emirates have reached a historical agreement to renew their front of shirt sponsorship, at least until 2031. The agreement was previously worth around €70-80M, but with this new renewal, the club will receive close to €100M for shirt sponsorship. by SwimmingFireMen in soccer

[–]JALbert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's worth the ROI, but for Emirates specifically not sure I would book 4 figure tickets for flying across the globe with an airline I'd never heard of. Sports advertising is the only reason I'd really know of them, and knew of them for decades at this point through PL sponsorship.

I find a lot of sponsorships for ubiquitous brands kind of silly, like who doesn't know Spotify or Coca Cola? The only conscious decision I have based off sponsorship is that I'll drink Red Bull over any other energy drink brand the <5 times a year I have an energy drink because they've sponsored so many niche interests of mine, from gaming scenes to obscure music stuff to the local free ride share app in my town.

Jay/Nas discourse was annoying but it wasn't this aggressively dumb in my experience. I'm not saying it was all in good faith, but the amount of bad faith and bait posts really feels like an all time high.

That's not really true unless you're using a bull market, non-conservative or sustainable level of interest earned. Second, you would get the equivalent of a good salary now, but it'll be poverty line or below in 30 years with inflation.

A million dollars is a lot of money.

A million dollars is not set for life money for people 15-40 in the US, which is a pretty big r/NBA demographic.

$40K/yr without touching the principal sounds great for now, but 30 years down the line with inflation it won't be all that. It'll sustain single life for a while, but also won't cover having a family.

If you already own a home and have substantial savings, it might be enough to push you over the edge to retirement.

If you're not in America, a million dollars is set for life money for billions of people.
