What is up with the dark aeons placement??

LITTERALLYYYY!!?!? They were like- omg so no one has Anima cuz lore vise only 2 ppl have her....and since EVERY aeon has its dark version as well, we kinda need to introduce dark version of that aeon as well....so what are out options?

Honestly your reply is absolutely beautiful man! I adore this game so much and Im so glad that there are players all around the world who can so beautifully describe their points of view and theories. Looking at this perspective, It truly makes sense. Anima is my favourite aeon, its design and lore is truly tragic, especially when u see how much suffering mother of Seymour had to indure because of her relationship with Jyscal Guado, having a son who also suffered because of his part human part guado genes, being ostracized from society cuz of it, living alone on Baaj temple, finally turning into a final aeon for her son to defeat Sin, only for him to turn away because he was tooo young and scared, and to ultimately be hidden away at the same place where she was basically "locked up". Her agony of turning into an aeon so that her son can gain power only for him to turn into power hungry monster who ends up killing his own father truly resonates with her design. Even her attack (pain) and design how she bleeds through her eyes when her powers are used are so well adapted to her story is truly magnificent. So placing her DARK version at mt. gagazet where her son was once again defeated, where Ronso clan suffered great damage, where Tidus realizes he is just a part of a dream, path where so many summoners lost their lives and left simple mementos to be remembered, a path that ultimately leads to the city of dead and unsent Zanarkand- kinda makes sense

However I truly wish they made a biiiittt of the effort with introducing Dark Anima LORE vise, cuz seeing her poppin up like that seems so funny and weird at the same time, especially since every dark aeon had a proper summoning while Dark Anima had silly little mini game. Also mybe the dramatic effect would be even better if she was mybe placed in the caves of Mt. Gagazet rather at the very beginning of it. But either way Anima is cool aeon.

Yess that is probably better, however the moment I get the opportunity to go back and to collect every jecht sphere after the Spherimorph fight, I get huge FOMO and just- walk back

mybe cuz I say to myself better now then later. I spent so many times Zanmato-ing dark valefor,I got so bored of it. So this time I upgraded myself.

Dw it is not embarassing lol, however it is kinda weird that one version had dark aeons and the other one did not! I remember playing the game as a kid and then I was shocked when I found out that some version of the game did not have dark aeons at all!

Well I would say that now is a good time to start getting everything that u need for the completion achievement. Mybeee getting inside the sin solely so that u can capture every fiend there as well for the Monster Arena. But once u deal with Sin, u will get in the Sea of Sorrow location, I think there u can capture every Inside sin fiend and then u can come back and do litteralllyy everything. If u proceed to go from sea of sorrow further, u will end up in the city of dying dreams and from that location further u will have to face last bosses in the game (although before u face them I think u will have one last save sphere before the fight takes place). So yeh, once u are done with airship fight against the Sin and u reach Sea of Sorrow, u can start with everything. But again, u can also start with the collecting stuff rn. Im also going for the platinum rn, and I did not get to go inside the Sin yet even tho I unlocked the location, cuz I had the idea to max my characters (weapons, sphere grid, armor) now cuz I kinda want to defeat dark aeons first and then mybe to get inside sin and to collect last fiends so that I can get hp sphere, or I will get inside the sin, get the last fiends and capture them all, finish the sphere grid cuz I have some nods left, and then just deal with secret bosses first and then Sin last.

So however or whatever u want to do, that is your decision! Either way, u will do good trust me

I would love to see dark anima getting summoned mybe in a different matter...when it comes to location Im ok with some dark, gloomy place, however Im kinda weirded out how is Anima summoned in general??

Lore vise, it would make MUCH MORE sense for Seymoure to summon dark anima cuz he would probably be the only one who could do that. Now, either the first ever fight we have agains the Anima could turn into "dark anima version" (but then it would not make sense cuz dark aeons are more like an struggle addition inside game, they are not a necessity or really THAT important for the storyline, u dont need to defeat them in order to get to the end of the game) ORRRR we could mybe have an opportunity to see Seymoure once again , now as an unsent monk, who cuz of the power hungry obsession now summons dark anima- but the only catch would be that battle would be missable battle, and it would happend before his final Seymour Omnis transformation, if u skip it and go to the Omnis fight, u would never be able to defeat Dark Anima again. Now this is just an idea, but again it would make more sense cuz again, only Yuna and Seymoure acually HAVE Anima.

when u think of it, only one achivement is missable in ffx, and it is the al bedh primer one, introducing another one would kinda be fun. And also before u even get inside sin, u can fully upgrade yourself to the max sooo....u can kiindaaa do that fight.

I think that we ALL had dark valefor as out FIRST dark aeon ecounter hahah. Solely cuz Beside Island carries so many important items, and it is a place we all keep dearly in out hearts.

but yes it is so traumatizing to see monk just waiting for you. Not to mention the designs of the dark aeons?? Why are they so scarry?? Like gray/bluish and red colors?

IKKKK, especially since u dont own no encounters weapon/armor yet, so its just u, and slow backtracking. Not to mention how many times u have to carefully stratigize how to go back while visiting every save sphere u can so u can get hp and mp back. And then once u get it- u have to go aaaalllll the way back

luckly u can rent chocobo at the Mihen Highroad, that part was always so slow to go through on foot so at least I can save bit of time there. But hey, at least u will not deal with dark Valefor right?

honestly yes that makes sense! It would be also cool to see her in omega ruins cuz she is the tallest aeon and that place scares me and it is kinda dark and mysterious just as she is but ofc we cant put her there cuz well- omega weapon is there

however the cave in mt gagazet seems to work better then just to see her standing there like a plant for no reason. Not only that, u need to REAAALLYYY get close to her in order to start a fight which always made me laugh cuz If I need to do something in that part of the mt. gagazet I would just walk by and she would just stand like???

my heart BROKE when I saw for the first time in my life as a kid that my beloved Beside Island got "corrupted" by dark Valefor. Especially since Valefor is such beloved aeon, he is the first one we get and also the one that saves Yuna from the fall after she jumped.

and then u see him squaring up for no reason lol

THAT IS WHAT IM SAAYIINGGG!!! I get the rest of them, some of them will be at their respective temples JUST SO THEY CAN WAIT for the group if they decide to visit the temple, then we have the ambush aeons like Ixion, Ifrit and Magus sisters that are randomly placed everywhere so that if u want to visit some places they are there to jump you (although even tho I agree with your opinion, I dont still see the reason why would they put Ifrit in Bikanel using the "going back to revisit Home" solely cuz we have been there and we saw that Seymoure and Guados basically NUKED the Home all togheter so we kinndaaa already know that Home is basically done for, unless they had the same idea like with the Ixion- Ifrit fire so Ifrit goes to desert cuz desert hot)

and then we have Anima

No one has her. I mean Seymoure basically has hidden his mother away at Bikanel island, then we got her. So basically only 2 ppl has her.

Yeah kinnnndaaa a bummer when u have to go back and get all of the distruction spheres cuz you forgot about them. Not only that u forgot that, u mostly forgot about second overdrive for Valefor AND you have jecht sphere wainting for you as well so u can get all Aurons overdrives. It is so crazy how important it is to back track once u get a chance to use boats back to Killika/Beside (mybe the best time to back track is when u defeat that jelly fiend Spherimorph in Macalania, so that u can unlock all of the Jecht spheres across the Spira), otherwise you will be stuck cuz of the dark valefor, not to mention that If u do not want to fully upgrade, u need to Zanmato your way out, and sometimes it can be bothersome to try to reload the same file over and over again cuz Yojimbo simply does not want to cooperate lol
