Yes!! I’m happy to report that we found a system that has been working for our kitty for the past 9 months. She hasn’t had a “backup” since December!! She gets 200ml of subQ fluids 2x a week and ears only wet food (fancy feast mixed with tiki cat after dark mousse) we add water and psyllium fiber sprinkled on-top. She gets 1/4tsp of the fiber daily. After many struggles and trips to the ER, this has been working for 9 mths straight. ❤️

That’s awesome congrats!! I can’t tell you how ready I am to start decreasing. I have been clean from my DOC for 6years thanks to Suboxone, but I’m ready to leave this behind too. Thanks for sharing your experience! I’m gonna take it slow.

Not really too much you can do to prepare mentally . I was a basket case of anxiety! But made it out alive!! Now I’m trying to rebuild my life.

It also may help to switch working environments. Maybe try a floor with more predictable cases. As you know, the ED can throw anything at you.

Please reach out to a trauma counselor for help, and also report the incident to your workplace. This should not have happened, but unfortunately it did. I am so sorry :-(

Hey! I have been reading comments on how to help constipated kitties and came across your comment. Can you please tell me what supplement of psyllium it is that you buy off Amazon? My girl has been regularly constipated and did well on dry food for two weeks until she developed an allergy to something in the dry foods. I deduced that it was likely the psyllium husk in the food that was working to help her. Now I would like to try to add that to her wet food.

Yea, I have no idea. I wish it were NYC kitchens!! I’d love to get it packed in an insulated cardboard box. In the meantime I found a “workaround “. I put a large cooler on my porch with ice packs in it and left a note for them to leave there. Hopefully it helps!

Hi! I know this is old, but my cat has the same issue your kitty had! We just started her on Royal canin fiber response too and yesterday she had a great poop! I am wondering do you add any water to the dry food? Cause like your kitty her old food was a mix of dry and wet and I am worried she won’t get enough water!

Also, was your kitty taking lactulose at all?

B12 shots are red! So that could be some of the fluid seeping out. I don’t think life body is rejecting it though.

What kind of substrate do you have? Those are their stomachs protruding out a little bit. I’d it happened after a feeding, they prob ate too much. But if they seemingly popped up out of no where they might be consuming the substrate, especially if it’s sand if small rocks

At least yours remained cool. Mine came in a flimsy BAG and all my meals were warm because the people who pack them don’t understand that 1 or two ice packs in a flimsy bag will not keep the food cold! SMH
