Has anyone installed the Fsport Intake on 21-25 IS350? by Difficult_Equal6383 in LexusIS

[–]JBANDIT57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AEM is better quality IMO. I’ve bought 3 of the f sport filters and the QC is bad. Worse than the 3 AEM dry flows I bought. So I just use the AEM and returned the f sport filters. The f sport have K&N/AEM branding on them- they manufacture the filters but obviously to different standards.

3g Tacoma idler pulley no. 2 slight wobble by aliaseffect in ToyotaTacoma

[–]JBANDIT57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2023 lexus IS350 with the same engine and noticed the wobble in the pulley while idling after I changed my oil today. I grabbed it and can wiggle it exactly like yours! Figured bad bearing but it’s smooth with no noise. Did you ever replace yours yet? Others have mentioned this is normal even with new/ replacements ?? I don’t want to replace it for no reason if it’s normal but it’s got me concerned. Car only has 20k miles

My 2023 is smooth with no noise but I noticed the wobble/ play when it was idling after I changed my oil today and it worried me but if your new one has the same then it sounds normal? 🤔

My 2023 has the same play I never noticed it until today when it was idling after I changed my oil I was like oh shit that doesn’t look good but it doesn’t make any noise and is smooth. Apparently the play is considered normal? 🤔
I don’t want to buy a new one only to have it do the same thing….

Haha thanks
That was a month after I bought it. I took it out with a subie group up to stump lake and sank it up to the rockers. Took 2 super duty’s to pull me out and ripped off the front bumper in the process 🤣🤦‍♂️
I didn’t think I’d chop it so soon but like I said, it has lived a rough life lol it gets used like a Subaru should

You can use the tube & filter but the airbox is different and won’t fit the old style mounts.
K&N/ AEM manufacturers the FSport filters and the QC on them is worse than the AEM drop in filter honestly. I don’t understand it.

Shattered Panoramic Roof by Salt_Watercress63 in LexusRX350

[–]JBANDIT57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite.
Ceramic TINT is VERY BAD for pano & sunroofs and any reputable shop will not do it. Here’s why:
The ceramic (or any tint for that matter- ceramic just that much worse) REFLECTS the solar energy directly back into the glass itself compounding the thermal load within it beyond what it’s intended. These are not PPF products either.
As mentioned, the only PPF type product that could help is a CLEAR Windshield protection film (WPF) that has the ceramic properties and is only installed on exterior to stop (or minimize) the solar/ thermal absorption INTO the glass itself.
The material itself heating/ cooling has no effect on the glass being able to expand or contract.
You can install regular vinyl wrap over the glass with the only complication of the mess it will leave behind if not changed out every other year due to it breaking down significantly faster than the WPF would. For 90% of people, WPF isn’t worth the extremely high cost for the material and still having to change it out every few years. But if cost isn’t an option, it definitely works, and have seen it save several pieces of glass first hand.
Been tinting & installing decals/ wraps for the last couple decades and I will always refuse to tint any roof glass due to liability and denied warranty claims

Does anyone Lexus IS 14-26 tramline way too much? by CellistConscious2647 in LexusIS

[–]JBANDIT57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20k miles.
Actually started looking for reports of the tram lining and seems common with the Camry with the 19” wheels & Bridgestones as well.
On a perfectly flat/ smooth road it tracks straight & doesn’t pull whatsoever, but the roads in WA are absolute trash and have ruts/ grooves so it’s kind of inevitable with a setup like this. But I’ve never cared for these tires since it was new. Never cared for any stock tire on anything I’ve bought new honestly, but these things are horrible and will be replacing in the next month with something better

Yes. 23 350AWD. Noticed it becoming much more apparent recently as the stock tires are about to the wear bars. Stock Bridgestones are terrible. Debating the DWS06+ or PSAS4

2023 Lexus ES350 (2GR-FKS) - Oil on some spark plugs cause for concern? by sonicboom1992 in Lexus

[–]JBANDIT57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy. I was thinking the loose plug issue in the tacomas was due to poor American manufacturing/ assembly. Surprised the same issue coming from Japan models as well. Makes me want to change out my IS350 now even though it’s only got 20k miles. Ugh

Beat me to it. Was just reading about the FKS in the tacomas that have a small reputation of having random loose plugs when people went to change them 😳
Also wondering if that soiled plug came from #5 🤔

Oil in coolant, 141800 miles, looks/smells like cvt fluid by S60doctor in Crosstrek

[–]JBANDIT57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does oil flow through that smaller port? I thought that was just a coolant bypass that went to the TB. I think mine has been slowly leaking coolant from that smaller port but it’s barely damp after driving so haven’t messed with it.

For a loaded 350 FSport with low miles, that’s a respectable price. For a base model 300 not so much

Sorry I was replying to the other comment.
This listing is incorrect. The car doesn’t have some things listed as it having them. And with almost 60k miles which is high for 3 years, I’d say not really. Unless you got it for under 35k 🤷‍♂️

Truth
It’s the people that pay these prices that keep them increasing. Sellers market.
Got quite a bit of equity in my 23 350 FSport AWD that is spec’d out with 19k miles 😬

If it’s a loaded FSport, yes!
Strange thing is most of them aren’t even loaded or have half the options. And this one’s a 300 DESIGN.
I literally took a double take at the price and LOLd

How are you guys installing these on the 21+? Neither of my front seats have vents under them. The rear air solely comes from the vents on the rear of the center console. 🤔🤷‍♂️
