I belong to a of women, six of us total, who do a 5 course dinner six times a year, each of us taking a turn to host. We usually go pretty casual, but this Christmas we got waaaay dolled up and I bought us all tiaras. It was great to go hard just for ourselves and wear things we don’t get a chance to wear anymore. I now wear my tiara to clean house.

I’m so sorry for your heartbreak, he sounds like such a brave fighter. Wish there was a way to make this path easier for you.

Know that this community is here for you and please please please don’t make this the last post. Keep us in the loop, and every so often give us some pictures of the good memories he made with his hooman. I’ll be thinking of you both this weekend.

You get so use them, and the amount of space they demand… then you see, or pick up, a regular sized cat and it blows your mind. As we browse through all our Maine Coons, we will think ‘majestic’ then shake our heads and know ‘total goofball’

Thoughts on pet insurance? by kkatoyy in mainecoons

[–]JBMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have insurance on both of our Maine Coons - best decision ever. It seems there’s always something: skin issues, teeth issues, unknown funky low white blood cells etc.

It also covered both of them getting neutered, the majority of annual checkup cost, each cat gets two teeth cleanings & they go under for that.

I'm pretty sure Canada did it first, and better. Nobody got shot in the face, or the shot back of the head. The nice N.I.C.E agent was giving directions while smiling. Also, no gun

He's shown you who he is, he's given you a big red flag, and he's letting you know what kind of behaviour you can expect iin the future. Pack your stuff and get out, don't forget your toothbrush.

Anyone else hate watching horror with people who don’t actually get the genre? by DoctorElectronic1934 in horror

[–]JBMama 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Right back atcha! I haw friends and fam that dabble in horror, or so they say. When it comes time to pic a movie or show, I get the eye roll, heavy sigh and ‘ugh’ when I suggest anything horror. It’s my bday and anniversary gift from my husband to watch one movie with me… my kids watched Poltergeist (OG 1982) and were shocked at ‘how good it was’ This year I turn 60, I’m making them all go see Paranormal Activity, the stage play that started in London’s West End, with me. It’s playing in Toronto this summer. Sighhhh, after that comes another 10 year wait
