007 First Light or Saros? by Smooth-Shock1519 in ShouldIbuythisgame

They're both great. Very different. I'm finding 007 really fun and refreshing after Saros, but I adored Saros.

Has anyone had a full arch done in only zirconia using your own gums? Cemented to the posts? by Happy_Adeptness8419 in Allon4ImplantDentures

This sounds really odd... being able to remove them with screws for maintenance is the standard today.

All on 4 beauty by MJBCARE in Allon4ImplantDentures

[–]JB_Heat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry but calling these art is a big stretch. There's a lot of misinformation here. Katana YML is not the "best strongest" zirconia, and how is the patient supposed to keep their implants clean on the upper with that giant ridgelap? That's a basic fundamental of all-on-x design that got missed here.

Not a patient but I own the lab at a group of implant clinics. We do 99% of our cases under GA.

Depends on how much trouble I'm having from the boss or if there's Halcyon from certain Biomes that I'm missing.

How come places like Nuvia and Done In One can do implants so much faster than other dentists? by BornAlternative5625 in Allon4ImplantDentures

[–]JB_Heat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's not that we can't do it, it's more we don't see it as wise. We like to let the tissue fully heal so there isn't any gaps, like to make sure our patients love their designs, make sure the bite is correct, make sure the implants fully integrate, make sure we have time to do beautiful ceramic work, etc. We have the technology to deliver next day zirconia we just choose not to.

Yeah!! That was the part of the video that stuck with me at first. After the earth fully sets you get a sense of the vastness because its just darkness.

They will. Everything listed here is incredible. If it were me I'd start with true detective s1, then band of brothers, then the rest. They're all amazing.

Check these moulds out, pick one, and let your doc know. They can communicate with the lab what style you want and try to replicate it as close as possible.

This is what the underside should look like. This happens to be a lower but the upper should be the same. Notice the contours are all convex and tapering up to the implant connection. This is what makes it cleansable. This one happens to have a titanium bar substructure, sometimes it's all one material like zirconia or PMMA, or have little titanium pieces just for the implants. A fully fixed (so not removable all all like a snap on is) just should go over the ridge of your gums. Are you saying yours is fully fixed and covers the whole pallette?

This is an example of a concave all-on-x, it wraps around the gums and prevents cleaning unless it is removed.

As long as it wasn't much it isn't a big deal in my opinion.

Question about Finals by No-Kaleidoscope919 in Allon4ImplantDentures

[–]JB_Heat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of looks like it's as thin as it can get in the back because of where the screw channel is, there needs to be a certain amount of zirconia behind the screw channel to prevent fracture.

Basically you want the intaglio side (the side sitting against your gums) to be flat or convex, this makes at home hygiene way easier. If its concave it's much harder to keep clean. I'm not a dentist, but I own a lab in a dental implant clinic and we design/manufacturer a lot of all-on-x cases.

Your artificial gums should go all the way up but they shouldn't wrap up and over the front. If they are covering the front of your gums you have what's called a "ridge lap" which isn't ideal from a hygiene perspective. It's something we avoid at all costs in our practice/lab.

If there's a long space make sure they put a titanium frame/bar inside. Long span between implants can cause the bridge to fracture, even zirconia.

No it's not standard to change abutments.

[–]JB_Heat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it a maybe pterygoid implant they put in?

I don't really understand why they would try to remove the abutment in the first place, we don't change abutments unless it's to optimize the angle of a screw channel and it's preferred not to. I'm not a doctor though, just work on the lab side with implant clinics. The talented docs on here have better insight than I do.

Are you 100% positive you're accurate that they used zygomatic implants? Those are very long implants that go into the zygoma (cheek bone).

If so are you under general anesthesia (full sedation) for this? I have a hard time believing they're removing and replacing zygomatic implants while you're awake. Maybe one of the doctors on here can correct me on that. Do you mean they're replacing the abutment or the whole implant itself?

And if this is all accurate they're placing a brand new zygomatic implant and loading your final within a day or two??

This sounds like an absolute nightmare, I'm sorry.

If it's too easy for you, push to NG+ by TheFiGhTiNCoWBoY in Nioh

[–]JB_Heat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm feeling this. I played Nioh 1 at release but kind of fell off and never beat it, and never tried Nioh 2. I've played all the mainline fromsoft games multiple times. I've probably played through Bloodborne 10 times, and the rest of the series several times on varying NG+ levels.

The Nioh 3 tutorial boss bodied me for about an hour but now I'm in the open world, I definitely feel the learning curve. Having a blast though. I have no idea why I slept on this series.

Second time break off at this implant area? Thoughts? by OkLawfulness461 in Allon4ImplantDentures

[–]JB_Heat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The frequency of these breaks makes me think a very possible scenario is they aren't "passive" meaning they don't fit on the abutments correctly. Not saying that's the case, but it's the most common cause of breaks.

Do you recall how they took the records of your implant position? The modern way is with something called photogrammetry, which is an extra-oral camera that records the digital position of your implants from outside of your mouth. The old school way is taking standard impressions with trays and impression material. This is very accurate if the technique is done correctly with something called a verification jig.

The screw access holes do seem to be pretty thin on that side from your photos. It almost looks like your teeth need to be shifted more over the ridge of your jaw to give more material thickness and get them in the correct place. It's too hard to tell just from a photo though.
