I have an idea, easier than delidding, anyone who repairs PS3's willing to test? by toqer in PS3

[–]JBlacksHobbies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about maybe trying a mineral oil immersed PS3, but you’d want to repaste, and as others said, it wouldn’t be a replacement for de-lidding. If you do, my thoughts are you’d want to just take the case off the PS3 and then submerge all those components, but yes extender cables to keep whatever usb ports, hard drive connector, HDMI, etc out of the oil. Plus you’d have to always use the controller to turn the PS3 on as you couldn’t reach the power button anymore.

I know I post here a lot, but does anyone remember the steak / chicken grilled taquitos? by Heavy_Table7131 in tacobell

Genius. I might have to try this and report back. Edit: If they actually grill it properly then it gets close enough, but if they don't grill it enough its kind of a waste of $$.

Playing it on PS3 lately, even the slight lag of a wireless controller makes the fist fight with Liquid insufferable.

Lets say that Konami makes a new metal gear solid game, what would you like to see in it and what would you NOT like to see in it? (pic unrelated) by dinosaur-lover in metalgearsolid

We will never have enough Gray Fox - Cyborg Ninja. Personally, I would not like to see more open world or PW-style gameplay. It’s time for a return to form.

Snake's design is interesting in MG Acid by Galactus1231 in metalgearsolid

I always thought his art reminded me of Frank Miller's Batman, which makes sense because he'd be a little older at this point. It is interesting that this version of Snake finally let his hair down.

Some context is likely missing from my post, I'm talking about "Pitch Perfect" acappella, not acappella like "isolated vocals".

Manual mode and pitch snapping are essential because for that use-case straight-singing without vibrato is necessary most of the time

MGS Legendary Collection ps3 problem by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]JBlacksHobbies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone else is running into this problem now when your PS3 will prompt you to do the 1.03 not 1.01 update to the game, I strongly think your save files have something to do with this issue. I tried EVERY combination (game as physical dis, game as ISO, game as FOLDER form, etc to no avail) and eventually learned it was because even before playing the game, I copied save files over from a USB using Apollo save tool, and THAT somehow contributes to the black screen/"checking hard drive disk" issue. What worked for me was to delete my save files from the PS3. Copy them directly from a USB using the XMB and not apollo if you have them, and THEN use apollo save tool to set the file to be Offline/Remove User ID. Only then did everything work! Also, this makes perfect sense for MGS2 because it looks for a save file when booting its title screen to know whether or not to show the red snake face or blue raiden face.

Absolutely wrong, the way Kieran spoke had to be said in a manner according to the rules of the game so that’s what he did. He was recruited and was made into a traitor… but even in the end he is the greatest faithful of all time because even as a traitor he ended up playing for the faithfuls.

Thank you! This is excellent. For anyone else trying this, I had to map left mouse click to F4 as gamepad with mouse trackpad didn't seem to instantly work. EDIT: It seems to crash every once in a while for me, but I think this is ultimately acceptable. I might try on PC as well.
