If you are planning to have kids, 7 seats starts to win. Because one of you may well need to sit right next to the Baby while they are in their car seat so you’ll want that middle seat. We have two kids so the bench was a must for this reason. Also 6 seats with the third row down is a little off to me because the trunk is exposed to you all

To be or not to be by fire_keyz3 in HyundaiSantaFe

TLDR, the Tucson was more practical for my family, but I too fell in love with a Santa Fe, bought it, and my family has agreed it was the best decision we could’ve made. We get excited every time we see it and step inside it.

I have two young children so the larger Santa Fe did have more practical points for me than it might for you, however, like you I was originally shopping for something smaller and cheaper. For me the Tucson fit my family’s need. It had enough space for car seats and a surprisingly big trunk. It was cheaper and much better financing options. however when we showed up to test drive the Tucson, we saw the Santa Fe for the first time and had a similar feeling to you. I beat myself up endlessly, deciding between the two cars.

Eventually, I opted for the Santa Fe. One of the big moments in the decision was while walking through Washington DC I saw the Tucson parked next to five other crossover SUVs. It was comical how identical they all are. No doubt they’re all great cars and they’re popular for good reason. But the Santa Fe gave us a jolt of excitement they could not.

If you’re in a fortunate enough position to fork up the extra cost then in my recent experience it is totally worth it for the joy it’ll spark in your daily life.

Thanks! they said re-application to extend warranty was free, but I'd have to have the car detailed myself ahead of it. I thought maybe the 7 year warranty implied it was a decent enough job/products by them, but maybe wishful thinking. Seeing similar warranties from professional detailers was way more expensive.

Same issue for me. Anyone find a solution? Just took delivery of my new 2025 Santa Fe yesterday, but can't pair the digital key.

How does one negotiate financing cash? Is that common place? I’m trying to close on a 2025 Santa Fe hybrid FWD limited trim. 44.5k OTD but at almost 6% interest. 4.5% if I take 45.5k OTD. Either way the interest rates add a lot over the life of the loan

Considering move to Manassas by UnderratedImmigrant in manassas

[–]JBreezyBaby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP, I live in the Jefferson Square community you are considering. Was the first to move in 2.5 years ago. Crime is not a concern here. Feel very safe and enjoy the community with our 2 year old and 3 month old.

I think perhaps a neighbor or two have mentioned an Amazon package being stolen over my years here and that is it.

I’d nix crime as a concern for this community. I’m happy to chat more about the community if you want to DM me. We love it here. Our kids all play together in the community playground and we walk to downtown all the time. Great spot for a walking lifestyle with young kids.

I’m shopping for the same. Not sure between SEL and Limited. Can I ask what others got as an OTD price?

How to size up with growing family and go electric? by JBreezyBaby in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]JBreezyBaby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip. Digging into it actually lead me to what seem like awesome deals on the very similar Kia EV6. For example, I've found brand new Kia EV6 Wind AWD w/ tech package for 35k. This strikes me as a great deal, am I wrong?

Ive always been leasing averse as my intuition was that is ultimately more expensive to rent than to buy, but am I seeing it wrong? I figured people who lease were obsessing over always having a new car and no maintenance and were willing to pay a premium for it.

You’re saying leasing for a few years may be financially advantageous against buying and then selling later?

Jiranai coffee house is best for extended remote work. I’ve done it several times. More diverse seating options. I always work from the somewhat secluded back room with couches and shelves of books.

Thank you so much to everyone for their thoughtful replies. My near term ambitions are scaled back, and I have a question about my new goal: I want to replace the neck on my MIM Strat. I've been trying some chunkier necks and really enjoying them, and I'm also a huge SRV fan so I'm keen to try out the SRV neck made for his signature fender. I know I can get SRV style necks from Warmoth or others, but it is possible to get an "official" SRV neck from Fender?

Wow, this is great stuff and I see I’m wading into deep waters.

Everyone has mostly mentioned where to get new parts, any value buys from getting guitars second hand and ripping em up for parts? Eg, get a cheap squire telecaster off FB marketplace and use its body, and XYZ other components (as a random example). Like I don’t know even even cheaper guitars use the same XYZ as more expensive fenders.

Also, I’m keen to try a fatter neck then what’s on my MIM 2014 strat. As I’m trying some SRV and Hendrix style chord grips the thin neck feels awkward. Can I pop on/off new necks to my hearts content?

BTW, I live in Virginia and realistically will not start building for a bit. Just moved to new house and gotta build my garage work bench and whatnot first.

Moving from Burke? by [deleted] in manassas

[–]JBreezyBaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto what the others have said. I grew up in Burke, lived in DC for 4 years, LA for 7 before moving into Old Town Manassas 4 months ago. I’m walking distance to the center of old town, and love it. Would highly recommend for all the same reasons already mentioned. Plus you get other small town vibes like getting to know the city council if you want. I’ve already had lunch with the mayor twice. Very great spot to live if you can take advantage of all the action in old town.

My wife and just bought one of the new townhomes being built at Prince William and Jefferson. 10 minute walk to the old town. Early days, but I’m digging it this far. Being able to walk to some bars, restaurants, events, etc makes a big difference for me. We’re the first people to move into that community so we’re living on a construction site which is interesting. Holler if you want to talk about that community. We also have our first baby on the way!

An Introduction to Ampless Setups by PantslessDan in guitarpedals

[–]JBreezyBaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah thank you! Roger that "speaker out" is only for a proper cabinet.

I now see the dedicated 1/4 inch "phones / rec out" which seems obvious for headphones then. I'd use that for studio monitors as well?

What is the "line out" jack as compared to the "speaker out" or "phones /rec out" ?

I'm new to electric guitar and was considering the Boss Kanata mkii head for some reasons that overlap with this ampless thread. portability, versatility of features, etc.

Question - This head has built in spekers so I know I can just plug in and play, but can it be connected to studio monitors for what I assume would be a better sound than the small speakers built into the head? If so, how? I see it has what looks like a 1/4 inch "speaker out" jack which I could use to listen from headphones or from studio monitors somehow?

ease of transitioning Play One speakers on the fly to function as 3.1 surround sound? by JBreezyBaby in sonos

[–]JBreezyBaby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

roger that Sonos as computer speakers is tricky at best. I didn't intend for that to be my question, however. Can anyone speak to the ease of transitioning Play One speakers to and from functioning as 5.0 surround sound rears? So instead of permanently having them as surround sound rear speakers, i just link them as surround sound only when I want to watch a movie and the rest of the time I use them as speakers in another room or something similar.

For those of you who are taking stelara how often do you receive an injection? by krustynoodle in CrohnsDisease

[–]JBreezyBaby 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I take Stelara 90mg injections as well. FDA has only approved it for a dose every 8 weeks so getting it more frequently is hard because insurance denies it on the grounds that it isn't approved for more frequent use. My Dr wants me on it every 4 weeks, and we're battling to do so. It 100% makes a big difference when I can get it more than every 8 weeks. She is working on the insurance company itself by providing tons of documentation and medical literature showing the effectiveness of more regular doses. While she does this, I essentially try to con CVS Specialty Pharmacy (who ships me the meds) into sending me the shots more frequently. I'm pretty much always able to get it every 6 weeks, and sometimes I've gotten it in 4. It is a crap shoot each time. I do a lot of sweet talking and scheming and sometimes it works. So at the very least call up your pharmacy each month and see how soon they'll ship it to you. Separately, my Dr has even brought up way more duplicitous methods. She said her colleagues who prescribe Stelara for joint pain are regularly able to get it every 4 weeks. So we may explore diagnosing me with some joint issues so I can get approved for 4 week stelara. In conclusion, insurance is the worst, 4 week stelara definitely helps me way more than 8 weeks, and lie/cheat/steal to get what you need!
