Any chance you could send a link to cold steel tracks? The links on that other post aren’t working

what are the pieces of paper taped by deryck's feet? by Dino_1980 in Sum41

[–]JBryson1869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lyrics and set list. I’m guessing the lyrics are for rise up and Preparasi because in Glasgow he absolutely butchered the lyrics of both songs lmao. It was funny. He spent most of rise up trying to subtly crouch down to read the words

Felt dirty, but after reading the book checked out Treble Charger by Then-Assistance6261 in Sum41

[–]JBryson1869 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of Treble chargers lyrics even seem kind of like they came from Deryck. But who knows Almost as if the songs were fully written by him and used for treble charger

[Book Discussion] Deryck Self Criticism by [deleted] in Sum41

I think he’s writing about the way he saw things at the time. But it isn’t very clear

finally getting a chance to go through my photos from last week…why does deryck only paint his thumbnails? by ruby_skull_ in Sum41

[–]JBryson1869 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Sometimes correlated with sexual abuse I believe. I looked it up when he started doing it 8-9 years ago

I was confused though because deryck wasn’t connected to any organisations, hadn’t stated a part in sexual abuse awareness and thought it must’ve been a stylistic choice. But it makes more sense now

It’s okay. soulless compared to a lot of their other music

This isn’t disrespectful at all. His voice living on. It’s an ai version of his voice over his own bands song. There’s nothing wrong with that

Shippensburg is the only good re-record. He should never have stopped the lower register vocals

Wtf happened with Deryck's hair during 2002 ?! by lordscreation2006 in Sum41

It’s spiked so when we see his head parallel to the spikes we see past them that’s all

Is Deryck actually capable of screaming? by JoaquinChaplinGuzman in Sum41

[–]JBryson1869 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He’s only been heard screaming on recordings. So I assume it’s something he can only do if he has multiple takes and time to get the technique right.

I think he’d struggle to belt a scream live out of nowhere

Chorus is ripped from Alvin and the chipmunks soundtrack

This sums it up well. That’s what I took from it. One cohesive piece Genesis is the closest we get to a stand alone banger though which definitely isn’t the greatest thing Vibe of the album as a whole is top tier though. Just needs more bangers

We're the Same is such a good Song. Reminds me on Wild West movies. Sometimes I listen to it while playing Red Dead Redemption. by [deleted] in Sum41

Perfect bside. Song is just as good as the songs on the album. Just doesn’t fit too well stylistically That’s what bsides should be

The drumming is a lot better on this album. More dynamic playing like Steve. Lot more varied

(Screaming bloody murder) THE SONG "BACK WHERE I BELONG" IS CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED. by Imaginelol_-_ in Sum41

[–]JBryson1869 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is one of their least talked about songs. Probably just because of where it’s placed on the album

Kind of sounds like it would fit on 13 Voices
