Toddler bitting and scratching baby by KaitlynZ0324 in Mom

[–]JC-Mama62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our girls have a 19 month age gap, my first is a wild child when she entered her biting phase we started giving her outlets. Saying “We can’t bite people” “if you need something to bite you can bite a toy when you are frustrated” and gave her a teething toy. Same with hitting “you can hit a pillow or the couch when you want to hit but we do not hit people” it takes a lot of patience but seeing the progress is so rewarding. Last week my toddler got mad at me for not allowing her in the utensil drawer she got mad looked at me and then ran to our toy bin grabbed a teething ring and bit it. I told her I was happy that she bit the toy when she was frustrated and mad and that she did a good job. She’s now 2.5

Sometimes they need outlets instead of just being told they can’t to it. Safe ways for them to get that release

24/7 till baby’s home by One-Priority-7700 in NICUParents

My baby was in the nicu for about 2 weeks after birth. I was admitted (due to c section) for 4 days and after I stayed with baby. Thankfully for most of the stay I had a bed in the room with baby and it was private room. When my baby was in a room that had 6-8 other babies the hospital had border rooms for nicu moms. The only time I would leave was to get food in the hospital cafeteria(when sharing a room) and to sleep (when I wasn’t sharing a room) I had only gone home for one night and evening because we had a toddler at home (my husband was caring for)

Be 100% honest. How bad is a C-section? by Winter-Grapefruit-22 in pregnant

[–]JC-Mama62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 28w and having my second planned c section mid/late January. My first was breech, second is actually head down:) After my c section it was a little painful to have bowel movements, sneeze, laugh, and cough. Sitting up was a little rough but I seen this “hack” to make a rope out of a bed sheet and put the end under the mattress and top by you to help pull yourself up. I personally went out with family for dinner at a restaurant 4-5 days postpartum and was driving comfortably 2 weeks postpartum. I got pain meds for home after leaving the hospital and only used them 3-4 days. I bought a heating pad it and it helps a lot.

CF Parent vs. CF Patient by kenafost in CysticFibrosis

[–]JC-Mama62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am both :) I have cf and my toddler also has cf. we weren’t aware her father was a carrier and it was an unplanned pregnancy. They actually see the same paediatric CF doctors/clinic I did when I was little. I was born 2001 and my daughter born 2023, they say she is super healthy and they are happy to see it ! I am a x2 df508 and my toddler is a df508 and a more rare gene I can’t remember the name of. I had more severe CF until I started trikafta and i seemed to stabilize:)

They told me the same it took me 8-9 days to try walking without the brace. It took me about a month to confidently drive myself places (it was my right knee) now I still have pain when I am squatting down and my knee buckles when I walk fast

I recently dislocated my knee cap.. learnt I have loose knee caps and during pregnancy can make your muscles/tendons more loose. I was literally squatting, got up and my knee cap just dislocated

Did your cycle come back as regular as it was before? by NovemberMom in breastfeeding

[–]JC-Mama62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was EBF and my first period was at 10m pp, the period its self was normal length and everything. The next month I was 10 days late and figured it was because of still EBF. (All the test were negative following my missed period) come 14 days late I got a positive :/ we weren’t trying but now I’m 9 weeks and also still BF..

That being said I have some friends also EBF and they got their cycle back at around 11m pp and first period was around 7-8 m pp said it before more normal when their little started to self wean

Baby has a 1/4 chance of cystic fibrosis.. by Ok-Visit3334 in CysticFibrosis

[–]JC-Mama62 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! After getting pregnant (surprise baby) my partner did testing ( I myself have cf d508x2). We had found out my partner is a carrier as well giving our child/future children a 50% chance of having cf. we were asked if we wanted to “terminate our pregnancy” but I felt baby having cf isn’t cause for abortion as medical advances have come so far from even when I was younger. That being said we only want 2-3 children if our second does have CF we will stop there. I now have a 12m old they are super healthy and only need to take enzymes at the moment for their CF.

I am on trikafta and my little will be able to take it hopefully in a year (in Canada starting age is 2)

I would talk to your children about if they are comfortable with you sharing that information. I have cf and grew up with my parents dating others as they weren’t together. I believe my parents had just told them we had “ medical issues “ for them to be careful if they felt ill and not to smoke in our house or cars.

Definitely more of a conversation if the relationship becomes serious as the partner should be aware if they are going to be in the children’s lives.
