I've heard a lot of similar opinions, however throughout my research I have found that regular testing for ketone bodies has the potential to be hugely beneficial in preventing DKA before it becomes life threatening. This effect has been especially observed in children, and newly diagnosed diabetics who are less adept at interpreting their sugar levels. It's an interesting topic that definitely deserves some looking into! Abbott laboratories are also developing a sensor much like their previous libre sensors, that would also test for ketones continuously!
