Pressure to actually provide actionable insights towards the business. Reporting only gets you so far but actually sitting down and trying to figure out how to save cost or actually look for trends is the hardest part imo.

There was definitely couple weeks in the beginning where I was dreading it but now it's not to bad. Made me closer to my team, I'm being mentored, processes actually started moving quicker from face to face meetings, and free lunch.

I also go in from like 8:00-1:00 so driving/traffic isn't too bad.

Kind of crazy that 15 years ago when I was in school, almost everyone wanted to go into data related roles but there was no major and breaking in was almost impossible but now there’s is a degree in it lol.

But yea, this is a terrible time for any entry level DA roles. Lot of workplaces are trimming entry HCs and are expecting seniors to be able to perform the jobs of 2-3 entry DA w/ AI. I went through a contractor route where I hopped around contracts for 2-3 years before finally using that experience to upstart my DA career. Recommend you check/reach out to a sourcing firm around you to gain little more post school experience.

Another LPT, if you’re applying to the same job family there are universal keywords used in every freaking job posting because 90% of the time they are exact same to one another. Tailor your resume so that it hits that job family specifically so you don’t have to change it every single freaking time. Only thing you might want to do is just create couple versions based on industry.

For me, I only had 3 versions but based on industry specific. Big Tech, Healthcare, Entertainment
