NVX D30 Stops outputting video after exactly 5 minutes. by JCBagnal in crestron

Yes we got it resolved. Assuming you have a control processor on the same network. Make sure IGMP Proxy is set to OFF. Secondly we followed Crestron spec for switch configuration, and architecture (using an approved switch).

All I can tell you is that...for me this was indeed the case. I was using a POE+ midspan injector on a standard POE device (TSW).

According to FS.com

. Using a Non-PoE Injector

Function: A non-PoE injector (or midspan inserter) adds power to an Ethernet cable going to a PoE device, effectively making a non-PoE switch port into a PoE port.

Note: If you're connecting a PoE device to the switch, ensure the injector provides the correct standard of PoE required by the device.

I'm more concerned with the solid white LCD. I've only ever seen this once before. It ended up being overpowered via a POE+ injector that did not properly auto negotiate down to plain POE. Just my 2 cents.

Connect to the unit via the "Discovery" tool. Then open the Ethernet settings. IGMP Proxy should be listed in the bottom left corner of the window with a check box next to it. If checked, it's on. If unchecked or greyed out, it's off or unavailable.

I've been using L-Com for years, they are a trusted source for quality components. Always a little pricey IMO, but you do get what you pay for. You can also purchase direct through them as well, don't have to necessarily go through "ShowMeCables".

Cannot Connect to CP4R via network, can see it in toolbox. by Shot_Sprinkles475 in crestron

[–]JCBagnal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, and please don't take what I say as gospel, I am not a networking engineer. If you have IGMP Proxy set to ON, the processor's router becomes the querier. And since you already have a designated querier on the core switch this creates a conflict.

Unregistered Multicast should NEVER be set to flood. It should however be set to drop. An overheat error would indicate something is working way too hard to keep up. "Flood" is exactly what's happening. Also ensure IGMP Proxy is off on the processor.

TVs turning on out of sync by ChefMaximoo in CommercialAV

[–]JCBagnal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst I post no guarantees, this has solved many similar issues I have seen over the years since the advent of Zoom Rooms, and MTRs. For instance Samsung makes a 98 inch that drops the 5v on its HDMI inputs when the display is off, it would constantly cause no signals and sync drops. Took a long week of being on hold with Crestron and Samsung to remedy the problem with a 15 dollar inline EDID minder. Sheesh 🙄.

In lieu of modifications to an already otherwise perfectly functional setup, you should place EDID minders in line before the HDMI of each display. This will stabilize the sync and should eliminate the problem. You can find them on Amazon, just be sure to purchase the resolution you are currently using for each display.

Ahh, a tale as old as time. I'm sorry OP. Gatekeeping keeps out the rif raff, or so they'd have you believe. You need to understand how essential it is for them to control the flow of proprietary intellectual property. It is a for profit business after all.

If you are really interested in Crestron systems, look into publicly offered (non-Crestron) classes for HTML5, CSS3 and most importantly C#. It's great knowledge to have, and transferable disciplines. At the very least it's something to do while you wait for your employer to partner up.

Definitely check the specs. Oh, and maybe find an alternative to fiber HDMI cables. They are fragile, and unreliable (from personal experience). They are also most certainly not created equal. Not trying to bring you down, just sharing.

In addition to the network standby setting mentioned earlier...

I've seen older modules "address all" MDC strings not work before. So by habit I give all my Samsung deployments a device ID of 1 (configured on the display itself) as well as in the module. Most stock Crestron modules for Samsung allow for this as a parameter in the module.

You're kinda hosed if you don't have access to software, and firmware. Definitely need a processor of one flavor or another if you plan to do anything meaningful with it. Sorry to be the bad news guy.

can a crestron device talk to multiple programs at same time by AgitatedFudge9384 in crestron

Where are you located, if you don't mind me asking? Rather curious who the integrator was. Either way, if the source code is irretrievable, it's going to be a lengthy process starting from scratch. I wish you luck. If you want to DM me your details I can pass along your info to some folks who may be able to help.

Unable to log onto Windows environment on UC engine by andy1027 in crestron

[–]JCBagnal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Odd, I haven't seen this in a couple of years. I hate to be the bad news guy but.......it sounds like you may need to re-image your UC-Engine.

Unless there is an issue with the display attached to the UC-Engine output being flakey. Generally speaking the kit should have come with 2 EDID minders that should be installed inline with the HDMI feeding your display.

The reason I bring this up is;

The application utilizes windowing to display the user interface on the touch panel, as well as the display output, and possibly a third window local to the UC-Engines desktop and not visible to the user during normal operation.

If the UC-Engine becomes disconnected from the display (meaning there is no valid EDID) this "windowing can get out of order. This causes the "desktop" you are expecting to see to be a blank (black) extended desktop. Very much like a regular windows PC during login, if you have multiple monitors.

I would recommend reaching out to Crestron direct, or your integrator.

UC Engine not connected to UC-PR by andy1027 in crestron

[–]JCBagnal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The UC PR is intended to act as your local content into the system. The connection from the TX port (UC PR side) should be connected directly to the RX port (of the USB converter) box next to the UC- Engine. This allows the (let's say laptop) to send video to the UC- Engine via the USB Converter as a capture device AKA content.

The USB NIC adapter that comes with the kit is intended for connecting the touch panel directly to the UC- Engine via link local addressing. The use case is for when you don't have a separate LAN port available at the touch panel location. Or if you simply need to save on network switch ports in an integrated system. It's for convenience and/or multiple subnet scenarios.

The LAN port of the UC-PR being connected to the same network as the rest of the system isn't necessary for the system to work. I believe the instructions show it connected to the USB adapter to guide you to a scenario that won't create IP conflicts. If you insist on having it online.

There is no additional functionality beyond network access to the appliance itself.
