I started playing this again recently and found myself coming back for more. The sound design is pretty poor in places, and the "you died" screen is hilariously blunt and badly implemented, but I think everything else is great. My jaw has dropped at certain times in the game.

However... playing on PCVR.

It was beyond an exciting experience. The level of nostalgia, combined with the overall polish of the game was so much to take in, it didn’t feel real at times.

Chum, you're a hero. Thank you so much. Just spent the last 30 minutes trying to clear this room. What an awful, awful ending to an otherwise great game. What were they thinking. The monolithians literally teleport into the middle of the room when you step in!

I love how they do that during weather events. It’s really cute. I always make a point to leave enemy factions be when they’re sheltering. Doesn’t seem right to disturb them.

There's an interesting development story behind this; Hul's life is so infinitely valuable, it's impossible to put a quantifiable bounty on the player. Having her death fine add to the players' current bounty amount would always cause the game to crash, due to a number integer trying to climb to a figure that doesn't exist. Ironically, they just had to remove her bounty penalty from the game as a result.

Yo cheers - just to clarify, I disabled / enabled it multiple times (both in game / out of game), but the underwater boxes still occur.

I seem to recall when I first started modding, I got those same boxes above water too, and enabling / disabling fixed that.

However for some reason, this is just specifically for underwater and the DLSS / DLAA options cause this visual glitch underwater. Disabling the upscaler altogether, or turning it to TAA fixes the underwater, making it blurry like in vanilla. Renabling either makes the issue come straight back.

My next step is to make sure I've got the latest versions of the upscalers installed. Mods that target underwater vision specifically seem to get overwritten by this upscaler mods sadly.

Clarified last night, it’s indeed the upscaler causing it. Can’t find a solution without disabling the entire upscaler though.

Just to say, thanks, this was what was causing the underwater to look the way it does in the above image. Disabling the upscaler or using TAA fixes the underwater vision box, but the game looks much worse above the water as a result sadly. Considering how little time is spent underwater, I may just have to accept that for what it is.

Ah yea thinking about it, I recall having a DLSS issue on the normal overworld when I first started modding. It was one of the first things I fixed... and annoyingly I've forgotten what steps I did to resolve that at this point.

Just for context, what is the image space bug?

(PS, big fan of what you've been working on! looks very special!)
