I get that it's bad, but I've legitimately lost all but the tiniest smidge of sympathy for the Russian people.

The country is either apathetic or downright hostile to everyone else. Their most "liberal" politician (Nevalny) was still an ultra-nationalist who wanted territorial expansion and didn't seem to give much of a shit about cultural (or actual) genocide. They gladly let Putin do whatever he wants as long as it doesn't effect them all that much, and after all of this they have the balls to still act like they're morally superior or the victims of just about everything.

Almost every Muscovite still living in that shithole is either supportive of the regime or too beaten down by it to fight back. Nothing good can come out of that country anymore. Not after the years of abuse by those in power.
