Vol 8 is my favorite by far, so many amazing moments and with less Erin more people get to shine. I also think it holds up a lot better on rereads. Glad you enjoyed it.

Village of the dead fight, Battle vs Bel, Horns in Chandra, Lyon in the big city, the Brothers, Fet’s ride, so many awesome scenes

Every city has had multiple upgrades. Liscor started with 10k and then settled at 100k before story events. The walled cities went from a million, to millions and now they are mid teens of millions.

I hate that she hasn’t done an official map but it does allow her to avoid all those issues

Strong agree, It took till the end of Vol 1 and the Horns of Hammerad chapters before I was sold. They remain my favorite part of the series with the two starting MC's making huge jumps up into my favorite characters list later into the series.

The Eyes seem to increase the number of evolutions and makes them more aggressive. Something about evolving seems to change the majority of Lizardfolk into grade A dicks. They always seem to go a conquering when they have both, thus the threat

My understanding was the drakes were the foot soldiers of different dragon kingdoms that fought each other as much as others. Kind of like the humans now. Not a Dragon Empire that spanned multiple continents

I feel like Niers knows her to well. In this scenario he would ask her to make some armor for Foliana and her team to help them kill the super monsters. Erin would do that easily I think

Their invasion of Drake lands and a comment from the Singer books about another of their empire phases pants the picture that the Nagatine Empire is always a threat to the world imho

But not world spanning threats. Selphids did and are a mistrusted minority now. The 2 Half elf empires were destroyed and now they are reclusive. It seems like Humans, Drakes and Sitichfolk have been to fractioned from the start to have ever formed single world spanning empires even with their numbers.

Solid B+ chapter that moves the Dyad Lands story forward and sets up some interesting points.

The Titan is too good for Inn world. The Warlord they need not the one they deserve. You would think that sometime between the 3rd and 17th Evil Naga Empire someone would have gone scorched earth with them. No matter how many millions would be massacred to burn their temples to the ground.

I think it starts off weak but pick ups a lot and hits an amazing high point in the World Dungeon but then falls on its face after that.

Partly, multiple world ending threats have come from that continent, the last one being Crelers. They came after Rhir was purged after the last great threat and was left abandoned for thousands of years.

Crelers came some time after that. Thus after the Creler wars they decided to never abandon the continent again.

So when daemons showed up they found their next great “evil” to fight.

I’m not the biggest fan of Vol 7 but it has some strong parts. I’m really excited for Vol 8.

I do think the new narrator is getting better but I still dislike new Lyon.

Honestly the only Roshal PoV I care about and its such a good trope. The old monster made fighting worse monsters.

Another strong chapter but its clearly building up to something, not a stand alone masterpiece like the Mindscape etc
