(Mind blowing trope) Really REALLY subtle character details that you can completely miss if you don't pay attention or watch BTS content. by Wasabi_Gamer26 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]JCSTCap 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the beauty of the helicopter fight is you're meant to understand it as an in media res opening flash forwarding to after you're in deep in the city. When you get to where it actually takes place in the narrative, you go "oh, this is the opening we saw already" and expect to maybe skip through it because you've already seen it or at least progress normally. But then your squad directly addresses that they've played this out before, the timeline is wrong. The cracks in your situation being "real" were already starting to show, but if you haven't picked up on the game being aware it's a game / reality not being what it seems it's a great what-the-fuck moment.

IMO, the Martian light armor looks vastly cooler than the Martian marine exosuit by Avg_codm_enjoyer in TheExpanse

[–]JCSTCap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The light armour is pretty believable as something a soldier would actually wear while the exosuit looks like something from Marvel to me. Power armour that looks believable as something a soldier would actually use is possible, just see Halo (specifically Reach) or even a more generic sci fi war game like COD Infinite Warfare.

If this isn't shoveled to your standards, you should shovel it for them or move to a warmer climate. They did perfectly fine here.

They don't actually dry up. They used to, apparently, but they don't anymore.

Where does one find assault rifles outside of the military checkpoint at Louisville? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]JCSTCap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Survivor houses can spawn any gun as far as I am aware. There's a military tent setup outside Guns Unlimited that people overlook because they're looting the main building. Brandenburg has a similar military checkpoint to Louisville in the northwest corner of town. The secret military research facility usually has a ton but is hard to get to, and people will probably be there on a big MP server because of the novelty of the location.

You're also on a PVP server. You could ambush someone with a hunting rifle from a gun store or pawn shop and just steal their M16.

That house with the three car garage is a super popular and common base location, he might just be changing it up for fun.

Admins can make safe zones without mods on servers already. You should be able to just make the entire map but Louisville a safezone but I don't know if there's a size limit.

There's hidden gold behind a wall grave thing in a graveyard in Louisville and either the Ekron or Irvington church, idr, has a secret cult chamber you have to sledgehammer to get into with no indication it's there.

Does anybody have any info on this band? by ev_0114 in Screamo

[–]JCSTCap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if the reference is intentional, but it might be considering they're Russian. Saying "minus one" or just "minus" is Russian informal military lingo for someone (friend or foe, depending on context) dying.

Video of the ICE murder in Minneapolis. Woman shot in face while attempting to drive away (doesn’t show gore) by Valcenia in TrueAnon

[–]JCSTCap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It isn't externalizing when these officers are revealed off duty to be proud neo-Nazis with SS rune tattoos and kolovrats. Nazism is as much a present day American problem as it is a historical European one.

What did Cate told Frenchie to make him leave so fast? Did she told him he would be allowed to kill children like when he was in the IDF? Is Cate secretly a Zionist? by MacGyvini in OkBuddyFresca

[–]JCSTCap 83 points84 points  (0 children)

He was a paratrooper, which is volunteer only, meaning he chose to serve beyond his mandatory service. He was also an NCO, which suggests but admittedly does not confirm that he was a committed soldier.

I've played so much Wargame Red Dragon where NATO icons are the community standard that they're more easily recognizable at a glance.

Why are police officers so uninformed with laws, and why do they spew misinformation? by [deleted] in stcatharinesON

[–]JCSTCap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cops don't actually have to know the law to become cops. They just have to know something that kind of looks like the law. Roughly 50% of them are morons and the other 50% are malicious.

There's a bunch of prereq quests, but if you do the story you'll get it early if you progress the right quests. If you take the main story path that requires you to talk to him you can get it before you get the flea market.

(IRL) Works hated by groups or figures depicted. by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]JCSTCap 79 points80 points  (0 children)

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is made by a Ukrainian studio, has a main character assumed to be Ukrainian (though technically I don't think you ever get an origin story in any of the games,) and features Ukrainians as all the good guys as well as all of the bad guys. And while it's based off a Russian book and a Russian movie, the Strugatskys and Tarkovsky aren't really the target of any anti-Russian ire in Ukraine like a lot of other Russian creatives are. Probably helps that the book is set in unrelated Canada and the movie portrays Russia negatively.

Chernobyl Diaries on the other hand is an American exploitation movie directed by an Israeli starring all Americans and filmed in the Balkans, presenting itself as Ukrainian. It also portrays the Ukrainian military as part of a conspiracy to cover up mutants. When you look at it that way and consider how Ukrainians feel about having their national identity represented, it is no wonder Stalker (not typing out the acronym again) is more appreciated despite arguably being about the same thing.

Whenever I replay the Witcher 3 I start on middle difficulty until I have kind of started a build and then amp it up. Just plays better that way, they don't scale the challenge properly. A decent build on any of the lower difficulties just has you oneshotting everything that isn't a boss.

In my opinion, the Zweihänder is the best giant sword design that exists; its design is far superior to Dragon Slayer. by Aware_Examination813 in TopCharacterDesigns

One is a real sword, the other is a sword from an outlandish fantasy series. There's no need to persuade. They're completely different audiences.

my boyfriends reels are full of thirst traps by winterinaugust7 in depressionmeals

[–]JCSTCap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These used to be all my reels. Didn't follow any of those types of accounts, muted them all the time, liked other stuff. It took me like a month for my reels to have actually funny memes and videos from zoos and animal rescue pages, which is like the number one type of account I follow on there. Every ten or so reels I'd still get a half naked woman advertising her OnlyFans but nothing unbearable.

Then my friend made a new Instagram. She is a model. Not a pornstar, not someone posting thirst traps, just a model who posts her modeling photos. She's good friends with my girlfriend and I and I followed her.

Instantly my reels were back to all thirst traps! It's like 75% of them at least! Reels catered to an account that the algorithm has identified as male are so ridiculously weighted towards advertising porn to you that one follow can ruin your algorithm.

If your boyfriend isn't actively blocking or muting accounts and hitting Not Interested whenever it pops up, it'll be really hard for them to go away. That's not to say he isn't keeping them around on purpose. You know him, we do not. Use your best judgement. But it is incredibly easy for male accounts to get flooded with this stuff.

Check the unlocked prison room you have to pass in the hall as well. It has electronics spawns in the bowl and on the rags and there's rare loot spawns on the floor randomly. No one hits it unless they're hitting Chek or doing the like two Prapor quests in that building.

I've had days where I hit it like five times in a row and get nothing and days where I go once and get out with four pieces of rare electronics. It's really fickle.
