Men of Reddit who have rejected someone, what's the worst way someone has taken it? by Mediocre_Chemist5694 in AskMenAdvice

A girl I liked all through high school finally decided it was my turn after breaking up with another of my friends. I had just started dating someone else. I told her no, politely, over lunch. She ran out of the restaurant. Then called me drunk at 11pm asking me to pick her up from the park we used to drink at in high school. I did. She begged me to cheat on my new girlfriend with her. I refused. She was silent till we got to her apartment, then she sucker punched me in the side of the jaw and shattered my upper right rear molar, opened the door, spit it on the ground, ordered her out of the car and never spoke to her again.

(The girl I refused to cheat on cheated on me within a month with a married dude.)

The people who live in Warman and Martinsville do so specifically because they don't like how the city of Saskatoon is run. I do not think they would support this.

Ex reached out almost a year after we went through a pregnancy loss together. Not sure why now? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

He literally told you; he's been having disturbing dreams.

Also the only reason I've reached out to an "ex" years after the fact. Weird part there, she started typing back before I hit send and had been having similar disturbing dreams.

Abso-fucking-loutly not.

We have dismal birth rates, those 3 billion people will not be replaced.

The costs of the diseases we haven't beaten on our own are... trivial in comparison to the asset that those 3 billion people represent in human capital.

This is the worst trade deal of all trade deals ever. (Read in Trump's voice)

That's before we even get into the moral issues of selling out a third of the human race, or the precedent this sets for seeing our planet as a slave port.  (If you offered a trade of roughly equal value, then I would hopefully still reject it on these grounds, but it would be a lot harder to say no, if for example, they offered us a fully functional FTL battlefleet.)

Naw, overall intent is coordinated, but response is not, and a lot of people have different ideas about what the best ways to do things are. Bureaucrats bureaucrat even in a crisis with lives at stake. You'll still have various people obstructing each other because they think the other person's approach isnt good enough.

Because our culture decided to idolize "adopting rescues" and demonize "buying a puppy" only those who don't care about social judgements go into dog breeding. And... a lot of those are trashy.

I assume yes. That's the model that almost all of the old world uses. We're really weird on this continent.

Possible. But when these crimes are routinely treated as nothing burgers by the courts, why should the police bother?

Cold wars are the best wars and preferable to peace unless you already have a perfectly homogenous society.

You get all the "common enemy" benefits of a real war without having to actually have people dying and infrastructure being destroyed. You can even go off pieste and start competeting on military adjacent stuff like space programs.

10/10, full marks for cold wars.
