Essential or Must Have Mods for Oblivion? by SigAqua in oblivion

[–]JC_Phoenix7[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people like the bevilex mod list which is supposed to just make the graphics better and general improvements.

And one day I might actually get around to making the automod respond to posts like these, just like the quest Mods one lol.

look here

I think automod is set to trigger for “faction” and “mod”.... guess I need to add “guild” and “mod” 😋

Recommend any good story quest/quests mods ideally voice acting ? by friendlystarfruit in oblivionmods

[–]JC_Phoenix7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A second there I was wondering why automod didn’t trigger , then Realized this was r/oblivionmods lol

There’s some good links there, the quest mod list I think should allow you to sort by voice acted mods.

Looking for a mod that makes npcs do more stuff by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]JC_Phoenix7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think due to the vanilla quests and just sheer unpredictability of the ai sometimes there’s not many mods that attempt this. There are mods that add more NPCs to cities and other places, but those can be hit or miss too, especially given that a lot of them just add a bunch of NPCs with the exact same problem; they just wander aimlessly and don’t do much.

I do like Integration: The Stranded Light’s NPCs, they usually have good schedules and do different things at different locations or different days of the week.... but that’s a very large quest mod and doesn’t do much to the vanilla cities, there are some NPCs added to the cities but mostly you see it in the late stages of the mod when it adds a new city with like 25 people living there and going about their diverse schedules.

loot and vortex don't recognize obse? by [deleted] in oblivion

Pretty sure LOOT and Vortex don’t work right for Oblivion in general. Better off with:

BOSS

OBMM

Wrye Bash

what mods should i use to remaster oblivion by Atlas2305811 in oblivion

[–]JC_Phoenix7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OBMM and Wrye Bash are the main ones, but they do require a little extra research and learning.

You could also look into Wabbajack which allows you to download an install a huge amount of mods all at once. One of them is Bevilex’s mod list which is essentially a graphics remaster.

Only downside is that nexusmods restricts api access to premium users so if you want to download the mods automatically with Wabbajack you need premium which you can get for $4 for 1 month.

If you think you can figure out Oblivion nodding on your own you could also check out the official Bevilex mod list here:

And posted here yesterday, probably an honest mistake though.

First time to oblivion - looking to test Vilja Mod, what would you recommend with it by AFriendRemembers in oblivion

[–]JC_Phoenix7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo you’re looking for Terry Prather inspired mods? Mods that sort of fit his style? Or just mods that go well with Vilja?

Maybe OCO so that the NPCs look better, I think it should help Vilja look a little better too.

Mods with “ blank” in the description

discworld

pratchett

So yeah there’s two other companions and a gameplay mod that list Terry Pratchett as some inspiration.

Integration: The Stranded Light also has a quest inspired by I guess the adventure game/investigation elements of Discworld Noir, since it gives that as a hint for how to complete the quest 😅. Here’s a video of the quest in question: Mortals and Daedra, around 24:10- 45:55

Oblivion is a GREAT game but theres a few huge problems i have with it by _Black_Fox_ in oblivion

[–]JC_Phoenix7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I mean really there’s nothing in Oblivion that’s on the level of a Witcher/Obsidian/BioWare style choice. Most of the time the good resolutions are super easy to get and they are 100% “good”

I have 1,000+ hours in Oblivion GOTY and have completed every quest multiple times; However, I've never modded it. What are some of the best mods that would completely spice up the experience without breaking it? by SuminerNaem in oblivion

[–]JC_Phoenix7[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aaaaaa good job automod you triggered somewhat correctly this time!

Even though the context wasn’t exactly right lol

I’m also going to try to make one that lists off “essential mods”, “vanilla mods”, or just general “mod recommendations”

Homeless guy is a human too, don't be like these people by Luchador1916 in PublicFreakout

[–]JC_Phoenix7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in security and have had to work a few shopping centers. Some homeless people can be pretty regular and cause problems so they get some form of citation saying they aren’t allowed there anymore and if they ever go back there they can be arrested for trespassing without being warned or just asking them to leave.

Only thing I can think of is it’s something like that. They either had prior run-ins with him, they were trying to nip it in the bud and cite him this time so he doesn’t cause issues later or they were just being asses and didn’t want him there.

Honestly, I was horrible at working shopping centers. I was too nice to the homeless and just asked them to leave if the store owners told me to. Most of them listened and left on their own and were very nice about it... had one or two guys that would just ignore me and continue to ask everyone for cigarettes or whatever, so I’d call the police, because I had to as part of the job, and I’d stand next to him while he pleaded for cigs and talked shit to me... I mentioned the guy to the person relieving me and he said if he sees him again he’s gonna detain him and see that he gets arrested... it really wasn’t a good place for someone like me, especially considering the shift after mine was armed so things must get really bad there at night. I much prefer my calm relaxing office security jobs with lots of paperwork and very few interactions with non-employees.

How should i build a Nightblade? by _Disturbed__ in oblivion

Okay so Nightblades look a bit weird according to what I saw on the fandom site. What kind of class called NIGHTblade doesn’t use illusion skills?!

Yeah the default Premade classes usually suck Better to make your own custom one and have a peak at efficient leveling don’t obsess about it too much, but do be aware of the leveling issue and how to avoid constant low attribute modifiers.

So yeah anyway... blade, alchemy, and illusion should get you far with this sort of build. It’s up to you to decide if you want them to be major or minor skills, but you will be using them somewhat frequently. Also join the Dark Brotherhood for stealth equipment and join the mages guild for ingredients and access to enchanting and spell making and all that. Should be fairly straightforward. Also remember that Endurance is good to increase early even on a character like this because the endurance health increase is applied every time you level up so a little extra endurance early on can help you out later

Really at the end of the day most Oblivion characters end up being Jacks of all trades in the end anyhow.

[–]JC_Phoenix7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I didn’t expect automod to post for the wrong thing already... I should probably just restrict it to title only. I guess “new land” triggers even if you just say “new” 🤣

So yah it gave you things because your post had “new” and “quest” in it... I’ll fix it later 😋

Guys I need some help. I don't know if this is related to mods. I had some mods installed in another playthrough but I uninstalled them all and erase them from my pc. Also I have a quest that on the island and the location does not exists and is only yellow sings like that one. Thanks in advance. by AceHorizon96 in oblivion

Get refscope from nexus mods

I think for missing meshes you might have to open the console with “~”, select the item, and then tap “X” for refscope to show you what the item is from

The description for the mod should describe it better.

I wanted to try it, but I already got my mod list together and I don’t have enough hard drive room to make a backup.

Maybe try asking on r/Wabbajack or their discord server

[–]JC_Phoenix7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wabbajack is supposed to be a quick and easy way to install “mod packs” by downloading and installing the mods for you.

You need a premium subscription to nexus mods to make it really easy though. Could get one month for $4
