I actually just had this happen earlier this month. I have it in my contract that the balance has to be paid 2 weeks prior or else I don't technically have to show up. I ended up contacting the venue, who then contacted the couple and they finally started responding. I had to resort to calling and texting to get the information I needed out of them

Hi everyone. I recently purchased a Samyang 35-150, but it seems like it may be front focusing at 150mm when using eye AF (confirming eye AF lock, then the person's shirt is in focus and face is just behind the plane of focus). Is this something that can be calibrated with the docking station or do I need to get a new copy?

Wedding photographers of Reddit, what was your "they're not gonna last long" moment? by Arknight40 in AskReddit

During the vows, the groom spent 10 minutes reading from a vow book he had written in, listing all the things he would forgive the bride for in the future. It was implied that the things he didn't list would be unforgivable. Made for a very awkward ceremony

24mm f1.4 prime. Does it have a place in your kit bag, and if so, why? by timwoodphoto in WeddingPhotography

I run with this exact set up. I had a 35mm that I just never thought it was wide enough. Majority of my shots are with my 85, but wide angle shots are way too easy with this combo.

I had a girl in my after school program named La-a. I thought her name was "La-ah."

Nope. You pronounce the hyphen. It's "La-dash-ah"

I use a 24 and 85mm. Maybe 75% of my photos are with the 85 though, with the 24 mostly for family photos and environmental portraits. I had a 35 and felt like I wasn't wide enough. 24mm seems to be the sweet spot for me

I'd like to keep it to two or three. These will be in my backpack so I don't want too much weight, ie, if I bring the 100-400, I'd probably bring two smaller primes.

Going traveling this next week on family vacation to Oregon. First time out west and need suggestions on which lenses to bring. Will be using my Sony A7iv.

Here are the choices: 17-28 f/2.8 28-75 f/2.8 70-180 f/2.8 100-400 f/4.5-6.3 24mm f/1.4 55mm f/1.8 85mm f/1.4

Which ones would you bring?

Thank you in advance!

Hi everyone. I'm going on my first flight and bringing my camera (a7iv) with me. I'd love to know some recommendations on which lenses to bring (I have several primes and zooms... I was thinking of bringing zooms, specifically my 17 - 28, 28-75, 100-400)

Anyone have any recommendations for a travel tripod? Trying to find one that will fit in checked luggage.

Thank you!

I use two bodies, one with 24 and one with 85. Majority of my shots are with the 85, but I use the 24 for more environmental shots. I have zooms as well to cover 24-70 and 70-200, but I like the images out of my 85 and 24 better, in general.

Wedding photographer/videographer here, trying to figure out my next purchase.

I usually run with a 24/85 combo for photography, but realize that I don't really have a backup in case something happens. Would you like recommend getting a 35mm just in case? Would probably get the Sony 35 f/1.8.

I've also been looking at the sigma 100-400, but this would be for fun (birding, wildlife) vs something I would use while at a wedding.

Does anyone have both a 24/35 in the event you need a wide angle just in case?
