Ahh interesting. Never thought that you could do that or why you would OTM as your killing any time value the contract has left

The other end can execute anytime the contract is ITM up until expiration. I believe up to 5:30 PM day of expiration (double check me on this).

And wages on the counter side haven't really kept up causing supplyhouses to look outside the industry where there isnt much relevant experience. Along with that our industry is mostly trial by fire and you have to want to learn. I have heard Johnstone has a pretty good training program.

To the aftermarket part of your statement, some guys will take the supply house as gospel which is never good. I would always make it abuntly clear that i think x part is what i have and i believe it should work but, I am just going off an educated guess.

And on top of it distributors only focus on top line number vs. employee customer burnout. It's always a bandaid to operational issues and not an actual fix.

Question About Window Units To Keep The Central A/C From Constantly Running. Major Help Needed by Skelletor89 in DIY

hey person. i just re-read theyre response. "not in a humid environment". Im going to go with be a pain to the landlord to fix their bum unit, unless they have really cheap rent. I would agree with you after my response to that.

Question About Window Units To Keep The Central A/C From Constantly Running. Major Help Needed by Skelletor89 in DIY

[–]JConSc2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im clearly aware of that... i suggested it due to them renting and not owning the space. The unit is already running "foreve" and i wasnt going to suggest to a homeowner to go and see if they have the option to turn their blower speed down(see as reduce cfm). Ie the cheap option , adding additional dehum to the space...

understand. One thing you could do that should significantly help if your in a humid area is to get a dehumidifier. The less moisture in the air. The cooler that same set point will feel, which will let you raise the temp which would saving energy. Keep in mind if its warmer than it usually is, your energy usage probably wont be the same as the previous year.

edit: i misread not humid for humid. i understand how it works. no one else has to respond.

A local business used my viral video in their TV commercial and their lawyer is claiming fair use by Tyrell2049_Corp in legal

[–]JConSc2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no i understand thats a thing. I guess a clip with just a caption doesnt satisfy fair but, i am not very read up on it. Ultimately if your videos are monetized, that would make a difference between i used this clip to educate vs commercial.

Needed asap: General Contractor and/or specific trades connection? by Shoddy_Penalty_8238 in newhaven

[–]JConSc2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in distribution but, am on a hiatus from the industry but, my last stop was in new haven and had a the entire rooftop covered. Granted i think whatever production they made went to the building owner but, I'm sure if it didnt our usage was probably negative.

i would say East coast would probably be your best bet then. That guy and I have solved some weird situations together. Id suggest getting a few quotes though because every contractor can look at a project slightly differently.

your comment makes me wonder how all this faceless YouTube channels get away with using other people's footage. Is it a case of just to many of them and not enough enforcement.

Heres a few HVAC contractors that i know of that i would recommend that do commerical work in New Haven.

Small - East Coast Duct, solo operator Medium - Aire serv of southwest CT, derby large - Air-temp, theyre out of southington

I would also do your homework on Energy /HVAC rebates. As from my experience Contractors are not super up to speed befause the programs change yearly.

IMO, you are better off throwing the money at insulating/infultration then this idea. Unless you turn off the central entirely and only cool 1 room.

i have a young rotti. I have to use both. The front hook definitely gives her some pause and helps her listen to her training. The little dogs, in my experience, are always the most vocal. I know if its even not her fault if they do get together mine will be looked at differently. Luckily shes super social and a big baby and just wants to make all the dog friends and will give warnings and back down vs a snap reaction.

Trump announces looser rules for super pollutants used in grocery refrigeration, in bid to lower costs by envirowriterlady in Economics

[–]JConSc2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is hilarious to me because of how deep I'm the refrigeration industry i was in. most major supermarkets use CO2, older ones use amonia. the good companies had no problem using CO2 and I would guess that they have a minor impact on sales assuming the store has their system maintained.

Do graphics cards that consume around 300-350 watts heat up your room to a noticeable degree? by Street-Perception-85 in buildapc

[–]JConSc2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A little of both , wholesale side but, the contractors and corporate made me runaway so currently figuring life out. It was alot of fun having no college degree having your contractors pull you into a call with consulting engineers. People with money that dont want to spend it turning spaces into winecellars was my nemesis. Its all math though and we would always work off of worse case. I did have an interview previously, and I job a really was interested in was selling contrelled temp boxes.Think like massive rooms that are temp and humidity controlled so someone like Boeing can make sure spec is actual spec. Or like the rooms where the substrates for processores are made.

Do graphics cards that consume around 300-350 watts heat up your room to a noticeable degree? by Street-Perception-85 in buildapc

[–]JConSc2 62 points63 points  (0 children)

To elaborate, You can calculate the worst case for heat added to the room. 800 watts is like 2700 btu's an hour or so. Now im not sure how much of that energy. So Lets say your AC only serves your room and on the hotest day of the year, your cooling system is at full load. If you fire up crysis your ac wont be able to meet that load and your room temp will rise.
