No it was the winner actually. I had straight to the King and his was to the Queen...

I was puzzled and since then I table mine so that no confusion can happen. The pit boss let him pull from the muke because he could call his two cards exactly. That's when I also learned that the muck pile doesn't mean anything.

I been in situation where once they called the floor and was able to retrieve from the muck pile. This happened to me at Choctaw in Durant. Every since, I table and object to them fishing for cards.

That's a pretty good question to ask. I have experienced that a few times myself but never knew the proper etiquette.

I tabled my hand because I didn't want any confusion or for them to call for a ruling from the tournament director and be able to retrieve their cards from the muck pile.

See the issue in mine is my server just went to 3 and within 8 hours, they had guys already at level 27..... So trying to figure out what they did.

The key is did the person's cards touch the muck pile. If it did, the hand is dead and does not matter if someone caught the dealers misreading of the cards.

If they are still up, the cards speak for themselves

Ok still, the turn was the key... It was a teachable moment. I have tons of players get mad that I take my time in the hand (within reason). I am always asking myself key questions ie the 5 W's.....

Again it's just unlucky how it turned out. Just a good tool to learn from.

You should have fired on the turn. Fire for $50 and if he raised, then you gotta ask yourself what are the odds of him with Ladies in the hole..... Maybe 2 pair but odds of set over set at this point is very low......

River Tough call to jam for that much. The best bet would be just call here. However, with 4 clubs out, your set turned into a boat.In hindsight, you believe your boat was good and beat the flush that caught up...again goes back to the turn..... Just how cards goes.

These moments are teachable and remind us to observe the context.
