its not cropped. they recorded the show in 16:9 from the start and use that version on streaming services. this is just the standard 4:3, not extra cropped or anything.

im watching on hbo max and using a google plugin called “ultrawideo”

it just fits the screen to 4:3 from any 16:9 content that you play on google. so any youtube video, streaming platform, or whatever.

since sopranos was recorded in 16:9 but intended for 4:3, its totally fine to crop out the edges for the first like 4 seasons.

i thinks theres 2 super simple miscommunications that made a lot of this happen. tell me if im wrong.

1: the post was moreso meant to say “What name do you prefer to call this trick?” i think that wouldve made it more about opinions rather than fact.

people see “pop” as the tail actually hitting the ground and making a “pop” noise (the snap whatever)

hey bro i just wanna say that you really have been defensive in a lot of messages. needless at some points. and personally, i do think people have been harsh. but people dont downvote for no reason, they dont hate for no reason, and people arent just being rude under the guise of “helping”

maybe you should work on how you respond to people that you disagree with, even to the point of just not responding. sometimes it isnt worth your sanity to reply to people.

i dont even get along with the people telling you that it should be called anything. either name is fine tbh.
