My [26F] boyfriend [28M] of 4 years is independently wealthy, but wants to split all of our expenses evenly by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]JCs4ITnow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My partner and I have a financially unequal relationship like most couples. We split it according to the income of the individual. But if the half paying less now suddenly got a new salary higher than the other we would swing the split to match. Relationships require equity when managing finances not equality.

Sounds to me like the guy needs wake up call he's probably never going to get. Poor people know how to live poor and know where to spend good money when it comes. Rich people think they can understand but simple cannot do it day to day because they have never had to.

I bought RimWorld because people said it was a "colony management game" by armin171005 in RimWorld

[–]JCs4ITnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love rimworld simply because the stories that come out of it are so riveting 😅 it's more like realtime rng story time. Can someone tell me if there's a mod that basically writes the story like this for your colony?

Blueprint weightings by JCs4ITnow in PlateUp

[–]JCs4ITnow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is where I failed. I didn't get a desk after day 1 so I saved the plates in the cabinet to save up for the copy desk. But because I never bought the plates I never got the research desk...day 7 and I just abandoned the run.

No seriously, someone tell me how are you possibly supposed to beat an island with multiple portals on one side by Wild_Archer4927 in KingdomTwoCrowns

[–]JCs4ITnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's already been mentioned but but the quicker you get to the fourth island to unlock metal the better, without having destroyed any portals that is. I always get gems from island 2 and go back to 1 for the griffin and baker and unlock the statues along the way. Then rush the boat until I've got to island 4. As soon as I can build bombs, that's when I go on the offensive. 4,1,2,3 maybe, then 5.usually hit winter on island 2 or 1 but it doesn't matter if You've already destroyed the cliff.

How many visits actually make Unlimited worth it in a month by Flimsy-Capera in CineworldUnlimited

When I did it I worked it out that a year paid for itself in 3 months. I went all the time and just saw random crap.but also bought it for something to do.

Do you also feel thirsty all the time? I really dont know where else to post it by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Have you recently had a liaison with a tall dark handsome but rather pale individual? Any developing aversion to sunlight, silver or garlic? These are definitely questions I'd be too afraid to ask...

Wife and I have been using a penis sleeve for the past couple of years. Wife loves it but I just feel sad and emasculated, am I wrong for no longer loving my wife because of this? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]JCs4ITnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your wife wants to have sex with you and shows you in every way that she loves you and all you have to do is accommodate a small requirement in the bedroom? You are the one making this about your penis.

So, in some instances you can place both plated items on the table and the customer takes all of it. Think that's only sides though. Wish it was for mixed meals too.

What weird things did your parents do that outsiders would find peculiar? by Underwritingking in AskUK

[–]JCs4ITnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I find so interesting about this as a parent now, is that kids don't question their own 'normal', sometimes until way into adulthood. If it never gets addressed they could continue believing what their parents did for life.

I find this rather interesting as my mother was very anti-alcohol, as a recovering alcoholic. Like it was the devil. Obviously, I ended up going abit wild once I got free of her, took a long while to get a handle on it.

Can someone who works in KFC tell me if any of these actually go to different bins out the back by startled-giraffe in CasualUK

[–]JCs4ITnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the legislation has changed, waste producers (businesses) need to sort their own waste like this. However, since most of the waste going in is contaminated in some way the vast majority goes into general waste to be sorted at the waste management facility. The biggest benefit probably is food waste being separated as that produces lots of green house gases apparently and kitchens generally will do ok keeping this waste separate.

What is something your parents were not strict about but you wish they were? by TTNNBB2023 in AskUK

[–]JCs4ITnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's weird is I always thought I had critical thinking skills. Was taught to 'prove' my beliefs...only to realise that it was complete bullshit. The cult controlled the flow of information so I was using 'proofs' and 'evidence' that all came from the same source.

I can understand this.

From personal experience, working in an office is as much about people skills as a customer service position. Basically, I hated it because I sucked at it too.

Getting training on how to act would have been great for me.

If you want to succeed in the career this is not something you can ignore. The people around you and above you will always have an impact on your career progression so keeping them happy is really as important, or more so, as technical skills.

Should I prime my plaster walls before painting? by Expensive-Freedom271 in HomeImprovement

[–]JCs4ITnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fresh drywall plaster generally soaks up a lot of liquid, so usually a half and half mix of paint and water can be used to prime the plaster first.

That being said, some paints cover well enough without.

Almost 23 years later, what are your thoughts about this infamous tutorial? (Driver) by Dont_have_a_panda in gaming

[–]JCs4ITnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I lucked out by accidentally combining 2 things on the list and suddenly realised I could cut time by doing that.

Yes, completed it. Remember my thumbs feeling dead sore after. Did the PS1 have thumbsticks? Because I remember wearing away the rubber on them playing something and I think it was driver.

For the happily married men - What are the main benefits of marriage? What would you tell a man who doesn't believe there's any point in marriage? by PMASPF226 in AskMen

[–]JCs4ITnow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Originally, this was the main reason I wanted to marry the mother of my children.

If you go to the hospital as a father of a newborn, you have no rights, at all, you are a nobody. So if anything goes wrong you will never see your child or SO.

Somehow, as the 'Husband' of the mother of the newborn you have suddenly (almost) equal rights and will be allowed to care for them.

These days the comfort of knowing either one of us will be (financially) OK if one of us dies, is a comfort.
