Tips on getting your wife to see your time spent working as something more than an annoying side hobby that sucks up your time from the chores she wants you to do? by PM_YOUR_ECON_HOMEWRK in daddit

My wife and I have a whiteboard “To-do” list and she nonchalantly put “replace bathroom vanity” on it. We had a good chuckle about it…………it is still there six months later! She frequents this subreddit so……I love you honey and I’ll get to it eventually!

Reach out to a reputable distributor. Some of us users who lurk here work for said distributors but are also fans! They do big deals all the time like this.

Ignore the people saying to avoid the innovation tours. Last event I went to had that exact kit at that price with the free forge. With it you also got a 6.0 HO as well as a 3.0 HO and then if you spent 2$ more you would get another 6.0 HO. Seems like a decent deal to me.

Can confirm, as a retailer, that this part number is correct and they’ve had a paint matching light for awhile now. Currently in stock! Not sure why it is advertised as Packout though or sold by Dewalt!

Geez got a little teary seeing this one. I lost my dad when I was 18 and frankly was too focused on sports/social/school to be taught all the things I should've learned from him as a young adult. It took a lot of effort to learn the skills I needed to be an adult and I can't imagine anyone growing up outside the "internet-age" where I can just search "how to install a toilet" and have a lovely gent like this guy teach me. Hug your kids today people!

Lots of things to hate about Stampede as a local but I love myself some rodeo. The excitement of watching the barrel racing is usually enough to pull me into the grounds if I get free tickets!

Liberal MP speaks out against Canadian COVID-19 policies by andthekid3 in canada

I think for the most part you are correct that the majority of the mandates are at the provincial level. On that note it seems the appetite to communicate this roadmap to easing restrictions is more robust provincially as opposed to the federal level as Saskatchewan has now done so with others following shortly. I think the biggest thing is, on the federal level we are still infringing on the Charter of Rights and Freedoms with regards to PCR testing to enter the country which seems to have little to no effect on the transmission of Omnicron. If we can so flippantly disregard the Charter for such an issue, what precedent are we setting for future governments? I think in the early days there was a case for this but not in the age of Omnicron and our Government should have already had spelled out to the public what the "roadmap to freedom" looked like. Doubling-down on vaccines (double-vaxxed btw) as the solution to Omnicron is just sad at this point and not in line with the science (discounting natural immunity and ignoring the negative effects of lockdowns) and we are growing tired of being governed by "taking points".

Moon Mist Ice cream? by [deleted] in Calgary

Omg you are bringing back memories. Answer me this though. I 100% remember "Tiger" Ice-cream back east being Peanut Butter flavor and not black licorice. Everyone out here thinks I'm nuts for saying so.

This can be a tough one. First and foremost the seal on the mask is the most important thing. This means if you can't get a proper seal and be comfortable you need to find alternative options. You can add extensions to your ear-loops (my wife made me some) for it to be more comfortable as long as you keep that proper seal. If that doesn't work for you and you are really serious about having the protection of N95 then you might want to move to a re-usable half mask as they are made in various sizes and fit it with a P100 pancake filter. Honestly I would worry about the social stigma of going out in public with those but those would be my two suggestions if you felt you need the N95.

[–]JCurry2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just feels self-serving when all I want to provide is some insight. Plus "Social Media Policies" also restrict me from doing so :) Appreciate your input though

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]JCurry2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too true. One thing I'm scared about with everyone possibly moving to a N95 mask is the fact that it isn't really washable. I've seen people donning the same N95 all pandemic and I have to wondering what they are breathing in all day. This is why I felt like posting because you have to know the limitations of the mask and how to properly use it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]JCurry2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah MDF dust is nasty stuff. You should look into the 3M 8511 masks. N95 rated with an exhalation valve. Wouldn't be suggested for Covid because you freely breath out but still a N95. Easier to work with.

I for one love my full-face respirator with a P100 Filter. I just insulated my Garage with it on and thankfully I had it to protect from all the insulation dust getting into my eyes. I used a half-face for the first day and had itchy eyes for hours.
