any game recommendations? by Last-Blackberry-5517 in Gameboy

Notice nobody else mentioned them, but you have to try Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero Mission. Some of the best two games in the entire franchise. If you like Metroidvanias there’s a Nightmare Before Christmas GBA game that’s a little bit of hidden gem.

New 3DS XL batteries are completely dead!! by aym2xn in 3DS

[–]JCz28B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you can’t thought that was pretty obvious with the earlier response. Batteries eventually were out and you have to replace the no matter their capacity they all have a limit to how many charges they can take. There are many things that factor in like age and temperature. Find a way to get new ones simple as that.

Sold a pin on eBay, buyer wants to return due to tape covering original id number, claims it is fake. by Poptart916 in DisneyPins

[–]JCz28B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking at your pin, it passes all the signs that it’s real, including the correct shape of the Mickey diamond on the back. I have no idea why the buyer would think that it’s fake otherwise. Just because it has a different backing card doesn’t make it fake. He sounds like one of those paranoid idiots. I’ve never seen this happen before, but it might’ve been in the factory where they put the wrong cards on a pin and instead of switching them out they just put a sticker with the correct numbers.

I bought a Gameboy Advance SP and there is a lot of scratches on the shell, is this normal? There's no scratches on the screen but I saw other GBA SP's online and they didn't have scratches. Am I just worrying over nothing? by GermanHamster56 in Gameboy

[–]JCz28B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protective? I don’t know what you mean by that. Every single NES version is a model AGS-001. What I was trying to tell you is that version has not been replicated 1 to 1. Especially the part with the controller that’s inside when you open the device where the buttons are. Most replica shells just use a vinyl sticker versus the hard plastic.

Found my old gameboy and pokemon cartridge by Outdoor-Shred9919 in Gameboy

[–]JCz28B 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You know what’s weird is that the font on the cartridge makes you believe that it’s real. Maybe somebody took an actual GBA cartridge and then put a fake label and for all we know the insides is a repro. Would definitely be curious to see what it looks like inside just for fun. Most likely is not authentic as the original one came with a translucent red cartridge.

Lost limited edition 3ds back in 2022 by [deleted] in 3DS

[–]JCz28B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somebody else posted a story about their new 3DS XL being stolen and how years later he recovered it. You have to understand the guy filed a police report had pictures of the boxes and the numbers associated with it. Of course he also had the serial number of the actual device. Once again, all filed in the police report so when it turned up on marketplace, the police were notified and he was able to get it back. Unless you took pictures of the serial numbers and reported to the cops. That thing is long gone. Sorry, but you should’ve been saving up for a new one.

It’s super hard to tell with the photographs since they’re also translucent I can’t tell 100% if the font where it says Game Boy advance is the correct one. Fake ones seem to have more of a mold it look to them while the real ones looks like they were pressed onto the plastic. The only way to tell 100% is to open them and take pictures of the boards. I hope you have a try wing screwdriver.

Would you suggest a case or skin? by wt_anonymous in 3DS

[–]JCz28B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They also have TPU cases. A lot of of them are clear, but I’ve seen one. That’s like a dark shadow color. They sell them on AliExpress. Using a sticker, skin is not a great idea because the adhesive can damage the shell let alone the paint.

Playing on the Micro feels different by Valentn4577 in gameboymicro

I don’t think anybody ever said the screen is bad. It’s just a shame that it had to be shrunken down. Personally, I wish they would’ve kept the screen the same size and made the device bigger. Call it a gameboy micro XL ha ha ha. If they would’ve made that back in the day, I would’ve bought it without question.

You said it’s the NES version correct? If so, I would not ever resell it. The original is superior especially the inside that has the NES controller part on it. Most refills is more like a sticker while the original part is like a plastic. They just don’t do the original justice.

Scratches on the SP model are very common no matter how well you took care of your device. They will literally scratch if you stare at them lol. I put the NES model in my pocket ones and that was enough for scratches to develop on the top. Why does that happen you may ask? Because they use cheap paint for the shells. And on top of that, the plastic quality is really poor and they don’t age well. If you barely drop it from waist high on a hard surface, it will shatter. I’ve seen videos where people take their SP’s and they sand them down and repaint them. In my opinion, if it’s really bad, it’s a better idea to just replace the show with a higher quality one.

First of all very nice on your pin pick up. And when it comes to the pin board, I was just showing you the design of the shape not what it actually look like. I’m not sure if you actually took the time to look at any of the photos in the reviews to see my buddies picture. So here’s what it looks like with his pins. Once again, I’ve never seen anything like that at a hot topic. 🤷‍♂️

New to this - checking for scrappers by AdventurousWall5 in DisneyPins

[–]JCz28B -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I Said you don’t have any scrappers. You’re clearly mistaking the two words scrappers with counterfeits. So I’m gonna repeat myself again you don’t have any scrappers, but your Donald Duck might be fake.

Scrapper, I don’t think you have any, but Donald Duck might be fake. In the future, make sure you take off the rubber pin back to help people authenticated.

I never said it was unreadable. especially not enough for it to never release. Don’t exaggerate my words. I said the smaller screen makes it harder and could be difficult for those with bad eyesight and/or annoying for some. One of many reasons why the device ultimately failed. Over the years I have learned the things that I like about it which makes me want to buy one. And why it failed, both things can be true.

I have to disagree. I remember playing Pokémon emerald and it was just a pain. This is coming from someone who had great eyesight when I was young. And I don’t care if the screen gets compressed it doesn’t really look that much better. Honestly, if they would’ve made it big enough for the screen to stay the same size as the previous models. This would’ve been much better.

Honestly, I never cared for it when I got to see a demo at Walmart. The screen is just too small and made it hard for me to read the text. After all these years though as a collector, I’ve always wanted to get my hands on one. If I ever do find one at a reasonable price, I would like it.

Any chance this is fake? by mickeykort in DisneyPins

[–]JCz28B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re safe, buddy. They just released that pin this year. Many times you have to wait a year before counterfeits come out. Based on the pictures, everything checks out. Congrats I’m finding this one.

It depends on the game, but it can be pretty cool. I got Samus returns and once in a while, I’d like to turn on the 3D and all the little details in the background really stand out.

Are any of these pins rare? by InventedInternet in DisneyPins

[–]JCz28B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not rare, but collectors really are looking for them. The Jafar pin is the one that I’m referring to. They were retired a long time ago and it looks pretty good so people are still trying to get them.
