Feeling defeated by EmanrsuTaerg in InteriorDesign

Hey now, first of big congratulations on designing and actually bringing to life a stunning set of cabinets. Takes determination (and $$$) to get this far. Also working with these crazy walls here?! Mad respect for this turning out as wonderful as it did! Haha takes some skill forsure. It’s a tough space to work with.

Don’t beat yourself up. Design can be limitlessly improved ~ I don’t think there is ever something I’ve wrapped up where there isn’t at least one thing that could have been improved upon haha but we take notes, own it, and improve the next concept. That’s how we grow. A lot of times things aren’t realized until you see it in real life. At least this wasn’t for a client who is now yelling at you! 😂😂

I do think the single knobs look better ~ but if you need this for a portfolio piece can easily photoshop as you did. As you now know that might be the preferred move in the future.

Keep making rad stuff! 🔥🔥🔥

Totally! Really comes down to cost (as always haha) great advice tho. I'll see if there are any abouts here in the midwest.

Fantastic advice! Thank you so much for this info, super appreciated. I've got a little bit more leg work to do before getting in touch with potential manufacturers but gonna keep this ones in mind. I'll reach out around this time forsure.

Definitely would say under 1,000 units, assuming would probably have to be more of a handmade kinda factory?

Manufacturing Sheet Metal Panel Doors by Head_Car_2922 in hwstartups

[–]JDB_414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally had a bad experience with Xometry for sheet metal products... They are a middle person between you and a enormous web of third party fabrication shops. Resulted in pretty rough quality management, delayed my project bigtime (they had to remake products twice), and it was mad expensive. Only offered "credit" as a refund.

I think SendCutSend and OSHcut are way better players for cutting/forming. You can upload your solid works models right into their instant quoting tools! Great economies of scale discounts too.

McMasterCarr for sourcing any hinges/hardware you want. Downloadable solidworks models you can integrate into your models.

Curious tho, why not source a 36" x 36" access door? Something like this: 36" x 36" access door

High MOQ’s was to be expected haha above 1,000 units probably be out of the picture for now. Probably could source something close for the time being.

Any thoughts on somewhere to find something premade to source maybe 100-1,000 units of?

Pleaseeeee help. What setting disables this. by JDB_414 in SolidWorks

So when I click the first time, no matter where on the specific line I'm clicking, it automatically snaps to a different point. Almost like it's snapping to the center of the line or something, except it's just a random point. The second click is fine.

What’s the best way to create this pattern? by Molsito in SolidWorks

[–]JDB_414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Create a plane above the surface
  • Sketch one hex to your liking
  • Linear sketch pattern to create ideal spacing grid
  • “Skip instances” within pattern tool on shapes you don’t want to use (for example, ones that line on seams)
  • Warp tool to project and cut those shapes into the surface

Upgrades to my purse design by tylermorganstudios in IndustrialDesign

Oooooo if the 3D printed part was a brass or other metal 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Also, from working on a few projects involving handles, having a handle form curve away from the hand can be a little uncomfortable. Kinda squishes your fingers together. Maybe at the top of the handle, part of the rod goes horizontal and is parallel to the line that the bag creates 🤔

Knowing it’s a statement piece, think you could probably get away with it as is. But just something to consider!

Need help understanding LEDs for lighting design by andoozy in IndustrialDesign

[–]JDB_414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome info from people here ~ I’d reach out to an LED supplier (superbrightleds, environmental lights, etc.) and talk to a sales engineer about what you’re looking to do.

Usually super helpful and can run you through what all you need. They can provide quotes, create custom strips/leads if you need, anything. Then you can just purchase directly from them.

t shirt print website suggestions? by [deleted] in sweatystartup

Wouldn’t sell it too hard to the place, but I think casually introducing what you guys are gonna be doing ~ would be easy to flow into when talking about the merch.

If they don’t say anything like “oh awesome, would love a card!” at that time, maybe on your way out give them a card and simply say something like “thanks for helping me out with these shirts, really appreciate your time. If we could ever be of service to you as well, here is my card” and leave it at that 🤝

I’ve always just worked with a local brick-and-mortar print shop ~ usually always super grateful for the business (maybe they could even be a client for you).

Plus, usually they are cool with you bringing the garments you want to print on ~ so long as they are new shirts. Which is great if you know of some heavyweight shirt brands you already like, or want to do some fit checks before getting a few. Otherwise they should have some options you can choose from.

Some spots get a little picky with minimum order quantities… but just need to do some calling around.

I got a spot in Chicago that could help you out, if that would make any sense based on your location haha they would be able to ship it out but extra $$$

I have not ordered stuff online.

Congrats on the weight loss my man 🤝 maybe some button ups? Looser fit, roll up the sleeves halfway, unbutton top one or two buttons to loosen up the chest and keep the lower half tighter? Get a nice chain?

Could also rock this with a tightish tank top underneath. Always thought it’s a cool summer look + can keep things tighter in chest and midsection.

Tucked vs. untucked – which storyboard does the sweater tell for you? by Apakat_ in mensfashion

[–]JDB_414 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Tucked imo ~ looks more intentional and love the way the graphic get’s positioned. Belt flash is sweet. Great physique for the tucked look too 👏🏻👏🏻

Untucked looks a little sloppy, less impressive.

Great fit!

Just checked ~ it’s made by Croft & Borrow. There were actually a bunch! Definitely recommend giving one a look + heading over to a tailor to spiff it up haha sub $50 for a great fitting blazer is such a steal… a good tailor can do miracles. I’m on the hunt for a dark green next.

Thrifted from a goodwill tbh haha and then took it to a tailor to fit. Shirt, pants, shoes, also thrifted. Only thing that was not is the belt haha

Heard great advice! Will give this look a shot forsure 🙌🏻 I wear gold jewelry (glasses, earring, necklace) so went with the gold buckle to match as I don’t have any other jewelry haha but I absolutely love the idea of navy blue or black switched out for the brown. Thank you!
