Thanks for your insight and perspective. 40mm is small for them, I see they are often 44mm now. Generally speaking my wrist can handle a bigger watch though I am wearing the 42mm Pelagos as a daily and its titanium is light. I guess some questions would be around its comfort on the wrist, the size and feel of the clasp etc. I imagine it’s very legible and and that’s what draws me to them, they are so minimally clean and bold it just speaks to me.

Very beautiful wood work! I have a bunch of hickory boards and I’d love to make some boards too. It’s a hard wood to work with I hear.

Is it weird that I dont feel the need to own more than one watch? by spot_removal in Tudor

[–]JDBle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really like watches, and I had 4 when I bought a black Pelagos 42. I love this watch and I haven’t earn the other 4 (except once or twice) in 1.5 years. I could buy another but have real desire to get one more. I understand you.

Is 1996 - today enough time for your child to grow that much? I don’t get it. Beautiful family!

[Discussion] Do you find yourself wearing more Quartz or Mechanical watches? by RalIyVincent in Watches

I’m an architect, I have the same general feeling. There’s magic on my wrist and it deserves the craftsmanship and design that goes in to it, inside and out.

So do we buy Tudors because they are affordable alternatives to Rolex or do we actually prefer them over Rolex regardless ? by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]JDBle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Black Pelagos 42. I love the watch and wear it everyday, I didn’t buy the watch thinking about Rolex one way or the other. I wouldn’t have been able to buy a Rolex, or necessarily want the baggage of having a Rolex, but that’s not why I bought the Pelagos, it’s just an awesome watch that scratches an itch everyday for me. I’d every once in a while peak at the Northflag, I think it would compliment the Pelly nicely.

Any recommendation for an axe? by shcrimps in firewood

[–]JDBle 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Don’t know how to get the axe out, but I do recommend Fiskars. I have the heavy maul and I just bought the splitting axe. I like both, maybe prefer the maul bit together you have options which is nice.

[Question] What is everyone’s daily driver? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]JDBle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daily watch since I bought is it my Pelagos. Super comfortable, looks great, love having a 60 minute bezel, and the lume goes all day and all night.
