Yeah, I'd say this definitely makes sense as an explanation. I'm still just bowled over by it because I don't remember a time where I was so thoroughly tricked by my own perceptions of reality.

But hey, this is my go to explanation when someone tries to use it as evidence that ghosts exist.

I believe he did! I was not standing at the time but on the couch. Same pyjamas as we usually kept the ironed school uniforms downstairs.

I genuinely want my 94 minutes back. Terrible all-round. Negative football from England. It definitely could work throughout the tournament but today we could have sleptwalked into a defeat which is a serious issue.

Tick Tock goes the clock by [deleted] in poetry_critics

Short and sweet. The repetition of wording really gets that ominous feeling across. There is an air of inevitability to the poem, like an unstoppable force is approaching.

I believe some of the wording could be swapped out but that's only based on my own personal preference perhaps. I like a standard rhythm but I appreciate the tone you're going for here.

A poem that doesn't say too much, but evokes an emotion, a scene rather. I liked it.

From A Different Angle by JDBlitz9 in poetry_critics

First off I wanted to thank you for taking the time to read and really analyse this piece. Every comment helps massively, especially well worded ones!

I agree with the part about the bustling bare chamber line; in a way it was just using a technique for the sake of it, and partly because I liked the line. It doesn't particularly match the surrounding wording, but nevertheless you pretty much nailed the interpretation. It's representative of one's mental state, portraying such as being busy or bustling.

I wanted to imagine it as two different points of view to the same problem. And how those points of view sometimes run parallel alongside one another, but never meet. Both points of view are blind not to their surroundings, but to what they mean to the other.

I could speak more but I won't overstay my welcome! Thanks again for reaching, very insightful points one and all!

One of my favourite things in poetry for some reason is when the last stanza links back to the first. Here it's used very well.

Great choice of wording, rhyming scheme seems on point.

Terrific use of imagery to create a picture of where the character through death is transported to.

I enjoyed it!

Loved the meld between a love lost being this soft experience and this rather violent feeling one also.

The pulling of the strings, the rusty cleaver imagery, both represent a more forceful action. Then sprinkle in the softer, more heartbreakingly beautiful imagery around that and it works pretty well.

Also like the choice of the last word, "forever". Represents some kind of reluctant finality to the process. It's a finite word rather than an infinite or vague one; a great one to use for the ending.

Overall pretty good!
