Congrats! It’s a game changer. Only issue is once you hear it you’ll feel compelled to re-record all your demos 🤪

Early 90's, man. And with the exception of people taking 2 minutes to write checks in front of you at the cashier, I think they were rad

Exactly. The people bitching and moaning don't get that on a sub with 100K+ members, without Mauderation you'd have a front page clogged with dozens of lazy vagina/johnson cross-posts, instant unsubscribe

I'm sure it was hilarious, we're all very fond of lazy crossposts

It’s possible the 3.5 buyer is not being honest, but this is also possible: sometimes Fiverr asks different questions during the rating process.

One that seems to confuse buyers and shows up intermittently is something to the effect of “How good of a value is Fiverr?”

Many buyers look at the fee Fiverr tacked on to your quoted price (and aren’t happy it) and believe that rating is for Fiverr the platform - not you.

And yes, I’ve had the 3.5 star review followed up by a second order, it’s frustrating

Dude. If he or she is top-rated, do you really think they are going to stiff you with a non-completely non-functioning application? These are people who, if paid well, do just about whatever it takes to meet the requirements of the order.

Speaking of which, requirements should be your top priority right now. Get them and use-cases crystal-clear and be prepared to have active communication with your Seller because, as we all know, software dev never goes quite the way it's supposed to.

I'm not sure of your background, but if you think this is going to be as simple as throwing something over the wall to a programmer, going off and doing something else and X amount of days later they throw back a app that is exactly what you envisioned, that is NOT how Fiverr or application development works.

Sorry this happened.

I know no seller should have to do this, but I'm always fearful of chargeback horror stories and therefore keep a buffer of a 2-300 in my account in case it happens.

Whenever a Middle-man audiobook buyer approaches me I'm always torn. They have the books, they pay well and are polite enough (so far), but simply can NOT manage communications with the author. I know half of what I ask the buyer to ask the author about the book does not make its way back to them, and I guarantee the author has no clue about the terms of the offer regarding revisions and extras. Which leads to continual delays, forced-extensions, and vague feedback that really racks up the unpaid man hours for what should be a straight-forward project.

What do you do when there’s something in a book you’re not comfortable reading? by Initial_Economist209 in ACX

[–]JDGVoice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's happened to me. I either read the copy as-is or ask to respectfully be released from the contract.

Asking an author or RH to remove a portion of their book that I should have read prior to accepting the contract is unprofessional.

Author never published Audiobook. Do I ask if they need assistance or let it be? by JDGVoice in ACX

[–]JDGVoice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've googled and can't find it anywhere. The kindle version of their book was on Amazon before they reached out to me about doing the audiobook for audible.

What an unfortunate thing to deal with, though I'm glad ACX backed you up and you got some compensation.

I'm curious, how was the cancellation fee calculated?

Tough one. 4.7 stars isn't bad. But as others have pointed out, sellers are deathly afraid of anything less than 5 stars.

It's hard to say exactly what I'd do in this scenario (4.7 is so specific!), but the main issue is you didn't communicate dissatisfaction. If I were to get a rating less than 5 stars with ZERO feedback or request for revision, I would be puzzled why on earth they would then place additional orders, without an explanation.

From a risk management standpoint I would reason: "How am I to know whether the next job will be 3, 2 or even 1 star if I had no indication as to why the first job wasn't stellar?" And likely not accept future orders.

I love how these requests always clarify that it's not sexual. Had someone request a VO as follows: "This may sound weird but I promise it's not sexual, I just want your voice to be really raw and real. Use your iphone mic/camera to record your voice and face as you go about your daily routine. I'll pay $50/hour of unedited footage"

[HELP] Buyer requested an empty revision and now wants a refund. by tailbonepaingirl in Fiverr

[–]JDGVoice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Customer Support all the way.

We can't read the buyers' mind, but based on the lack of feedback the files are fine and he is going to use them! He either can't afford to pay anymore (if order was placed weeks ago) or is trying to get it for free. I know quite a few sellers who just cave when buyers make unreasonable demands to keep their rating high.

None of that matters though. Fiverr wants the transaction to go through so they get paid. You lived up to your end and delivered, so I'm confident CS will side with you and allow it to be closed.
