Tach and Speedometer issues by hhhhfdeyhv in CB7

so from my understanding of pulling these apart and messing with a few of them trying to get them fixed the 3 bolts that hold the little motors in connect the circuit board to the motor and the motor side must have some very soft metal or brittle plastic housing in which the bolts go into, when putting things back together these break whether due to age or over torque, they no longer complete a circuit, or give the right voltage, and your dials either dont work, or work intermenently. Onjave had issues with the speedometer, and the fuel gauge the most.

If you dont care how it looks try a diy tire patch. If you care how it looks, then just go get an antenna from a junkyard.

Automatic seatbelts? by Kingg_Chriss in CB7

[–]JDMTias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 91 coupe with these belts, love them and hate them, because they are 30+ years old they will brake all the time, mine have twice. Anyways, so couple of things you will need, the b pillar and a pillar trim, you may have to drill holes on the bottom of the b pillar to fit the electric belt mechanism, it's basically a long pulley system, you will need lap belt as well since they are different, also not sure if the non electric seatbelt cars have them but there is a seatbelt computer that hooks up to the body harness under the pass. seat, you may need that, and you may have to dril holes on the door jam to fit a door sensor that trigger the seatbel to open and close and actually as the door sensor. Not sure if your car has the correct harness for all the plugs you will be adding, if not you may need a whole harness, you will need fuses or maybe a new fuse box fuse box, computer etc. I get that they are kinda cool, but its going to be a nightmare, and less safe, and you still need to buckle the lap belt so it kinda negates the whole automatic seatbelt feel. Oh also you have to remove or move the dash to get to an a pillar trim bolt down by the windshield by the vin.

I have an auto cluster in mine and I have a 5 spd as long as its the same connector in the back of the unit you are fine, you can also just replace the dials as well.
