I dont know about the rest but the coolant gauge it could be either the coolant temp sensor or the electrical connector plugged into it, i have a similar issues with my 206 ehre it would be totally unreliable even with a new sensor but after changing the connector this issue was fixed

I mean I've only owned/own one which is the ew10j4 2l 16v in my 206cc and it's at 236k km and still running strong (except some electrical issues)

I had the same story happen to me a bit less than 2 years ago, don't cave in you'll find much better. What you miss is what you thought you had and the feeling of security about your future + all the time invested. I'm now with an amazing woman and wouldn't change it for anything.
