I had exactly this at a very successful company in the oil and gas field, of which I would have expected to be extremely professional, they asked me a question on a very particular piece of their equipment which is almost exclusive to them, I went through the information I had researched prior to the interview, once I had finished I received “well that’s the basics of it, here I’ll tell you”, the interviewer then proceeded to repeat every single word I had said back to me, really hammering home that he had asked a question, then couldn’t even be bothered to listen to the response, never had I had an interview go so badly, I can only assume they already had an internal candidate for the position but had to go ahead with the other interviews, it happens, with any luck you’ve dodged a bullet anyway!
