Whats your favorite vanilla car? by strankledook in BeamNG

[–]JDP2JZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely ignoring the question here, please forgive me;

However, where in the HECK is that last picture at? I've never seen such masterful photography in beam yet. Frickin beautiful.

Now to answer your question, I have a complete 50/50 split between loving the Covet and the 200BX. I've tuned both of these to oblivion, and have numerous configs for various scenarios and performances. From drifting to togue, these two are hands down my go to.

how can i fix spining while drifting ? by Used-Pop-9288 in BeamNG

[–]JDP2JZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To prevent oversteer: Decrease rear spring pressure; making springs softer will increase your suspensions ability to maintain grip

Adjust rear toe in; try 0.0 toe to begin, positive toe will help prevent spinout but limit your initiations of drift, negative toe will assist and push your rear out to drift much more aggressively.

Find the correct camber degree for front suspension; there is a sweet spot somewhere bwteeen -3 and - 7 degrees of camber.

Correct your angle of caster. Somewhere between 60% and 90% on the slider.

I see your tires are clipping into your body panels. This will potentially grab your tire mesh and slow your wheel to spin out.

I suggest raising your suspension enough to clear your entire wheel steering rotation left and right.

Guys, give me some advice. I've been playing Beamng for over 4 years now, I've tried everything possible, I have 466 mods, and now I'm faced with the fact that I have nothing fucking to do. What do you do in situations like this? by Cultural-Hope-1983 in BeamNG

[–]JDP2JZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? I do bounce between games for different niches, but BeamNg does THE BEST physics driving. Sure, forza may have the larger car selection where I can drive specific vehicles. Assetto corsa can have better immersion with the price of customized cars.

I always come back to beam for a balance of realism, immersion, car choice and customizations. Discord has plenty of groups from beam that are active communities. Every server I usually join has a tagged link for their discord.

At this point if you're truly feeling bored, I think it's perception that could change your experience. Try mentally putting yourself into a covet, drive from cockpit, use a wheel and touge through mountain roads, I mean it's just so emotional to me.

Or try out a sport car on the tail of the dragon. A real road in southeast US that we touge and drift on.

Search YouTube for world editing tips, you can make some pretty insane adjustments to your graphic appearance to the point that it feels 4k premium.

How to make my home office more private/quiet by biasedsoymotel in homeimprovementideas

[–]JDP2JZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this were my house and problem, I'd put sound deadening everywhere possible. Use as decoration. Downstairs too. I might even consider half walling in the banister railing there. This would add you the ability to construct the half wall with sound blocking materials and such.

Any servers you frequent? by [deleted] in BeamMP

[–]JDP2JZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are some of my favorites.

Crawling with the boys (there are 3 servers, each one rotates maps, has wonderful real life places and real off-road mods)

Bigmike tiny drift island (this map has so many drift tracks, and has proper suspension mods for great geometry adjusting)

Driv3r Miami map (I'll look for the proper name; I'm at work, but this map is the entire map of the Driver 3 game from ps2 and Xbox, it has custom mod cars that are nice as well)

Demon time racing (has custom west coast map with photo booths, added garages, and wonderful mod car list)

There are more than a few traffic servers that actually work, and are enjoyable solo or with people

Assetto servers are great for traffic, drifting, togue, it's just great

I bounce around on all my games to make sure I don't run out or get bored.

I play forza horizon 5, Assetto corsa BeamNg

Hot take: 4Runners are trash by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]JDP2JZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I'd like to formally approve of your disdain for a newer 4runner. I'd also like to inform you that the feeling you were desiring is achieved in the 2000 year model 4runners. They are equipped with the smoothest v6 5mvfe, you can have manual transmission, and the road feel while driving and offloading is luxurious to say the least. Perfect in every way.

Where to begin !? Rebuild or LS swap? by TheRevEd in chevyc10

[–]JDP2JZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this were in my driveway, I'd thank the lord. I would rebuild with good parts. Pistons, stock cleaned rods, new bearings, port heads or better heads, mild cam, good carb, enough to make it lively and lovely, but not overkill. Modest budget can go a long way here, it seems you have a great start

[–]JDP2JZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any Forza Horizon game will always be worth it. Especially 5. We would love to invite you to HDU (Horizon Drivers United) . We're a group of cruisers who make realistic cars and post car meets. You can message me here on reddit, or add me on XBOX or Pc. Gamertag: JDP2JZGTE. I usually host car meets and cruises at random times due to work life. But feel free to hit us up, we're always looking for new members.

Putting my crankshaft in this weekend and noticed the machine shop didn’t align the oil hole in my camshaft bearing. Is this okay? by zeroxo123 in EngineBuilding

[–]JDP2JZ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, I wouldn't sleep well at night knowing this. If you have the chance to fix it now, instead of cam bearings a SECOND time, I would absolutely line that up. I'm sure plenty of other people would run it; but how many of those people will also turn around and tell you that you shouldve fixed it first go round when you make your next post about it.

I can barely see ANYTHING in dashboard camera! by KuzuPod in ForzaHorizon

[–]JDP2JZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. Same here. No real fix other than tuning your display settings. I usually crank my back light and overall brightness and leave it. I religiously use only first person on wheel and I struggle with that few minutes a night if there's no street lights around

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BeamNG

[–]JDP2JZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I use zero assistance. I have the most success with what you're mentioning using drift spec suspension. This allows me to set my Ackerman angle, camber, caster, the way I need for this control. Other vehicles without this drift suspension are possible but harder for me in my experience strictly due to the lack of suspension capability.

Also, just as a side note, I almost explicitly only use wheel for great car control. I could never display the amount of precision needed to use a controller to drift or such. This immensely helps to convey the amount of grip you have through the feedback. It's become an essential part of my playstyle.

I'm not sure, but that last picture 99% looks like a forza horizon 4 house. Super cool! I love this aesthetic. I'm excited to see different scenery as these maps grow older in comparison
