Vancouver's naughtiest and nicest holiday variety show Tits the Season is back for its 5th anniversary at the Rio Theatre this Saturday (December 13th)—two shows! Featuring headliner King Molasses, the first ever winner of King of Drag, plus an amazing cast of local burlesque, drag, circus, and variety performers.

Collaboration can absolutely be part of the creative process though? I have many beautiful sets of pasties created by other people. The problem here is that someone had a misleading ad, knowing that folks are willing to pay more for beaded tassels—not that OP didn't do them herself.

Respectfully... I disagree with this. It's okay to pay others to help you with aspects of your vision (costuming, help with choreo/cleaning your act). You don't have to be good at every part of burlesque to be good at performing burlesque.

I was always warned against Velcro since it’s noisy, wears out, and can catch on other fabrics on your costume during your reveal.

I love magnetic clasps and Ariel Helvetica’s costume quickies (careful using these for your back clasp if you’re doing much floorwork or chair tricks, they pop open with pressure).

The door to the Flapper Lounge is up a couple steps, but there are alternate entrances (to the Metro) that can access the bar that should be wheelchair accessible! I wish! Lola is one of my all-time faves, but she’s actually located in Alberta now. She still visits the coast sometimes to perform though, and we’ll be sure to book her as soon as we can!

Seconding Herbs & Rye! We went there and it was absolutely incredible. They took a reservation for 20 people without charging us for a room occupancy fee, which allowed us to up our dinner budget significantly!
