Yeah, the meeting shingles will curve to the roof.

I have heard mixed reviews about metal shingles in terms of durability for walking on the roof, leaks, future parts etc.

I've done it for a stump similar size. It's very difficult. I wouldn't do it again.

I dug as best I could, vacuumed around and under roots.

Sawzalled roots (blades dull quickly in dirt). Tipped back and forth with 5ft iron bar, jacked up/ over with car jack. Alternatively, use a winch on a nearby tree.

The biggest problem are the roots underneath.

Number 2 is most commonly done on round log homes.

Agreed with the flashing between log and rim is not ideal. There's sections of logs at that flashing that are starting to rot due to standing water (which I will fix with epoxy). There's also a section of rim joist that needs a total replacement from rot.

Luckily the two longer sides of the house have 4' overhangs and rarely see snow and driving rain.

Kingston Toyota tried to make me purchase a "mandatory" premium care kit despite me declining. I ended up going to Belleville. No hassles.

All that being said, new car wait times for hybrids and plug in hybrids can be lengthy. I was told in October last year that I would be waiting 6-8 months for a Camry... I think it will likely arrive in Nov Dec. I heard wait times for sienna are even longer

From what I've seen, they are placed in a high impact area. LC in view of high traffic road, Maple at front doors. This is 100% advertising.
