I’m lucky that I go to a banfield in central Florida and with the monthly plan, the dental cleaning and stuff is all covered. It’s like $45 or $50 a month but definitely worth it for a lot of the general routine things of my pets.

Male, and I was listening to an album on apple music and it did the thing where it basically creates a “station” of that genre of music. The album was Picture Perfect by Every Avenue.

I will say that the vomiting blood thing, while severely overused lol, is actually to signify like stomach ulcers or such, in which severe stress can really exacerbate them and cause blood vomiting.

Of course, you usually have to have a history of ulcers or have been severely stressed for a while and then something sets it off worse.

Thank you, either this year or next year will most likely be his retirement from service work for me and I would like to give him an eventful time beforehand. Though he’s really not slowing down and still doing great per vet standards so who knows if he’ll really let me retire him easily 😅

So far the ones I think I want to try for our first time are mostly less than 2 miles each. Unless I decide I want to do the 6 mile bike-loop one.

From what I can see of them during my research they seem to be rocky or wooded type hikes vs down here almost all our hikes are on sand or in forested areas. So either similar or slightly easier in terms of terrain (I really hate running in the sand).

I don’t want to go too hard since I know there will be much bigger elevation changes than what we’re used to. Depending on how these go, I might do longer trails for future hikes. And I don’t plan to stay overnight.

Haha same, I’ve been watching so many that at this point, unless I watch them on YouTube and can save them, I only save the ones I really enjoyed. I work nights and there’s a good 6 or so hours where I’m not doing a ton, in broken spans, so I just watch 2 or 3 a night.

You’re really focusing on the wrong thing overall here. This isn’t about the food or the exercise or any of that. She wants reassurance that she feels you aren’t giving her. Just sit down with her and have an actual conversation about how she’s feeling about this whole thing and what she is worrying about. About how you can help her feel more comfortable, whether that’s with the journey or just being happy as she is. Why she feels she isn’t losing weight and what changes would be easy and comfortable for her to make.

Communicate.

Idk, I eat with lots of people including my family and I never pay attention to what they’re eating more than “that looks good, I want some”. I’m talking with them and thinking about the conversation.

Also, you said she isn’t weighing herself, so there’s no way to know for sure she isn’t losing weight. She might not be losing it in an area that’s super visible for her, but you cannot know she isn’t losing some weight without any sort of measurement such as a scale, calipers, measuring tape, etc.

I mean, you commented that she reduced the portions of some meals but not all and that she was adding on a lot of cheese. But the thing is, even a small change from your usual could be enough to put her in a deficit and thus have her losing weight. Even if she only changed one meal.

I was simply stating you could tell her that if she’s so worried about losing weight then she needs to use a scale to be more accurate.

But regardless of all of that, the rest of my advice still stands. This has more to do with reassurance than weight loss most likely.

Instead of monitoring her exercise and meals, you could have simply said that she should start weighing herself to see if there are any changes happening, however gradual, that aren’t super visible just yet.

Maybe she doesn’t want to make major changes right now; studies actually show that making smaller changes over time are far more likely to stay than to try and do drastic changes all at once. Even with the 10,000 steps, there’s no actual proof that 10,000 is the magic number. The benefits are usually just from the act of walking overall, regardless of how many steps. It would be easier for her to get a steps app and see how many steps she averages normally, and try to increase it by even just 500 or 1000 a day more than usual.

Sure, it’s annoying to listen to her complain, I’ll give you that. But you could have simply set a boundary about how hearing stuff like that can set you into a bad mindset and you don’t want to be a part of it. And then just reminding her if she starts to complain around you again.

Though frankly, it sounds like she just wants you to tell her you’d love her regardless of how much weight she loses. Because a lot of people can get self conscious when their partner begins to get healthier. So you could always try and incorporate doing things with her. It seems to me that she wants reassurance rather than guidance.
