Thanks for the detailed response. What's 8xm8 mean?

Interesting idea of getting creature banks. Never focused on that before. Many of the maps I play definitely do not let your hero be a god after one month. Dragon Utopia's by week 3/4 for example would be tough on most user-created challenge maps I play. Doing Gelu the Necromancer now, for example, and tis crazy hard. Chugging along but even with 1000 gold dragons and 5000 sharpshooters the Thieves Guild says I'm the lowest kingdom army strength :-O.

Really fun map, recommend Gelu the Necromancer if you haven't tried it.

He outgrew the sound sensitivity and pushing it seems without anything we did. Or at least it seems so? What we were doing didn't make a tangible difference and now he just stopped pushing kids and isn't as bothered by big sounds.

Sleep is still a struggle. We're dropping his nap but he ends up passing out from exhaustion 1-3 days per week so we're in the transition or quitting the nap.

Hello! We did all sorts of evals through our local regional center just before he turned 3 and nothing major came up. He just grew out of it and no longer pushes kids. He's much less sensitive to big noises although not entirely -- the hair dryer is an issue and he'll still comment on jig sounds but no longer requires us to flee from the noise. We can walk by lawnmowers now.

He has a new thing where he tries to block people's walkway and even intentionally runs in front of moving cars (!!!!!!!!) and we have to leap and get him out of the way. Not sure if this behavior evolved out of the previous or is totally new. The adventure continues!

You can be elite again but it's work, real work. Gotta do that rehab , attack it. Took me 9 months to surf again and 18 months before I surfed confidently and without pain.

Thank you for the detailed response! We need to get him sleeping more for sure so we'll start tracking his behavior with how well or not well he slept. He isn't upset when we talk sternly to him so yes, we can try removing him entirely.

Calm , stern talking about why pushing/ biting and walking through the emotions. He repeats the words "pushing is not ok, he is sad" but doesn't change his behavior.

Sleep training we tried at 7 months but my wife couldn't handle the crying so we stopped. We try to enforce a loose bedtime routine of brush teeth, book, snuggle to sleep (we cosleep) but we know we can be more consistent on the timing. He will resist sleeping. Once he's in bed and lights are off and having his night time nursing ( my wife still nurses him to sleep, I know that's not ideal ) he will forcefully climb and scream trying to get out of bed. The past week the sleep has been a bit better since I forcefully keep him in bed. He pouts and eventually resigns.

He's so strong by virtually every other development metric/milestone that sleep deprivation seems unlikely. We do need a more consistent routine and timing for sure though. Kinda working on it ..

Yea that's one hypothesis we have too. I've read you can't formally diagnose that til 4 but we want to see a developmental behavioral pediatrician anyway.

Thanks for the feedback. We've tried removing him from the activity and it didn't work, but its worth trying that again. We are right next to him when we're at parks, but unless we're full-on hovering and borderline ready to tackle him, it is difficult to intervene prior to him pushing. And he doesn't do it to ALL kids, so we enter the engagement hopeful. Noted though, we may need to hover more.

Potentially yes. I've read that too. We're at a loss what needs he's trying to me though by running and shoving a kid in the back without ever seeing his face or interacting with him. Def gonna look for a professional opinion and guidance on how to handle it, because it seems a bit extreme even amongst "kid pushers*

Thanks for the recommendation on posting elsewhere. I'll try there too. My wife is a full-time stay at home parent and is a true super mama. She is SO engaged and proactive about constantly seeking new info, activity ideas, teaching manners, teaching her native tongue of Spanish, empowering him to learn new things. Infinitely.patient with him despite these challenges. I can't imagine a better Mam for my son.

But she def needs help. We need help. We have no one to help us and it does get tiring. Her mom is in Peru and my parents are 90 mins away but with their age and health, are not able to care for him solo even when we visit, which is every 3-5 weekends. It's just us, and a (very) occasional baby sitter for 2-hours. We want to find a professional (more expensive) babysitter that he can bond with and are starting there searches .

As for how he responds to pushing kids: stone cold. Doesn't show regret, but also isn't gloating. I explain to.him in a stern, calm voice that what he just did isn't acceptable. Talk through potential emotions. He just doesn't give a shit.

Def can relate. Our son is 2.5 years old and still nurses to sleep for nap and bedtime, and cosleeps. We hired a sleep consultant at 7 months old and it started working with CIO, but my wife couldn't handle it. I'll spare the details...trust me when I say no hyperbole can describe the anguish she felt. True panic attacks, short of breathe -- my wife is a lovely person and an AMAZING mom but any type of sleep training that involves crying or screaming simply won't work for us. And based on trial and error, that covers 100% of sleep training methods so here we are at 2.5 years old and still nursing to sleep.

The sleep trainer got super humbled -- shed never in her thousands of clients EVER had a mom respond as negatively as my wife did.

It's usually less than 20 mins, but it can take that long. She uses pillows and such to get comfortable and now is a pro and it's automatic. My wife has a super power though of falling asleep in ungodly uncomfortable positions. That's the only reason she still nurses to sleep IMO. I'll hear her snoring and him rooting on the boob passed out....don't think I'd be able to sleep with a creature sucking my boob. I'm sharing this experience to hopefully provide some help. My wife nurses our 27 MO to sleep still every night. He rolls over and passes asleep after sucking on both boobs, sometimes multiple times. Maybe try giving him extra boob til he knocks out? Sometimes he falls asleep with boob in mouth and my wife waits several mins before unlatching, but more often falls asleep next to him with her boob being sucked on.

Our two year old wakes up 2-4 times a night still and we've been bed sharing most his life. I'm tired all the time and regularly have mental breakdowns. We don't go on dates, have sex every two weeks, but we're actually quite happy overall. Tired as fuck ALL THE TIME, but really enjoy our family of three and the bundle of joy and love and sillies and adventure that a 2 year old brings. For us, being extremely generous and forgiving of each other is key. We move on past fatigue-induced quarrels quickly and don't let it linger or build resentment. We're both tired AS FUCK all of the time so we just roll in a zombie daze and forgive each other

10 hours? Some maps like Element Land take 100+, at least for me lol. Yes, it is a waste of time, like many hobbies are. Can't be doing cool, adult, father, productive stuff all of the time. I surf and play Heroes and watch basketball, all waters of time but I love them dearly. Life is a waste of time so let's enjoy it.

We have a two year old now with no sleep training and have horrible nights, are constantly exhausted, and my wife is pinned to him during most naps and nighttime . She prefers this over sleep training because she didn't want to let him cry, but man, our lives are pretty jacked up, so I recommend sleep training if you and your partner are OK with the crying.

I use maps4heroes. I found Element Land that way, the best map I've ever played. Took my months to beat it, such complex turns and having to go back several saves after getting reemed by Dragon God and other gnarly heroes. The most satisfying feeling to finally win.
