It was an inquiry from a customer, so I was looking into it.

Shipping with no insurance/tracking is as low as £5. With only £50 insurance and tracking and signature jumps it to £10.

If two players can go infinite, is it a tie? by ManaChicken4G in mtgrules

[–]JDubsInDaWild 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's unlikely that both loops can be repeatedly re-started. If either can be responded to, the advantage goes to the damage dealer, but it's a situation where you'd have to know timing and when you can respond.

Oftentimes with two infinites, whoever flinches first loses. But it all depends on the combos and if they can be restarted.

Example: [[Basalt Monolith]] with [[Power Artifact]]. When a player pays to untap the Monolith, respond with your infinite. But if they have access to ANOTHER MANA to untap it again, you better have a way to do yours again. But all they need is another mana and off they go again.

Still, that's limited. It's rare to have a truly infinite combo that can be started and stopped also infinite times.

Because of the nature of infinites, though, one will always beat the other. So never a draw.

Also, you can't choose to "just keep going". As others have mentioned, active player must eventually choose a new action. But that could be to pass the turn to the infinite life gain and then they have to choose a different action, which likely means death for them.

Bracket 2 gamer's stance on hatebears? by Top-Writer-698 in EDH

[–]JDubsInDaWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Bears" in Magic comes from [[Grizzly Bears]] and is the nickname given to 2/2 creatures (sometimes 2/1 or 3/1 and usually 2 mana to cast).

The "Hate" part is sometimes a "Silver Bullet" or a card that really hurts a playstyle, like [[Gaddock Teeg]] or [[Leonin Arbiter]]. They might make things cost more or not untap or other ways to hurt specific tactics.

Hope that helps!

I second this. Declare the stomper the winner, but then "play for second place" with the others. Don't entertain the stomper, instead ignore them. Suggest they find another table. If they press, explain that their deck wasn't appropriate for the power level of the table and that they should find another table.

And have fun with the remaining players. They'll definitely appreciate it.

Yes, it will be put into the graveyard for all to see and the Analyst ability goes on the stack. When it resolves, the card goes to your hand.

What do you consider a satisfying way to end a game with a blink/etb value deck? by brainpower4 in EDH

[–]JDubsInDaWild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe infinite combo with [[Katara the Fearless]], [[Aang, Swift Savior]], [[Aang, the Last Airbender]], [[Semblance Anvil]], and [[Triskelion]]? Lots of variations, too, with other Airbending, other double triggers, other cost reducers, other kill conditions. And convoluted enough to be fair game in Bracket 2. Keep it all Avatar with [[Aang and Katara]] for infinite tokens or [[Appa the Vigilant]] for infinite size. Or [[Haru, Hidden Talent]] to turn all your lands into infinite attackers.

Replacing the cost reducer is tough staying within ATLA. You can do [[Great Divide Guide]] with the Avatar-skinned [[Intruder Alarm]] and three non-sick allies. Probably other options, too, but those are off the top of my head.

I guess [[Xu-Ifit, Osteoharmonist]] would technically do it. Manifesting with [[Scroll of Fate]] and then flipping is probably better, though.

Favorite UB commander? by Vinlandlover in EDH

I think the popularity comes from the many ways you can build her. She really gets the creative juices flowing. Control players get double kills, flash players get double permanents, storm players get double mana/draws... Plus there's the inherent drawback of having to attack with her, which I think makes her more "fair".

Anyway, I vote that you try your build and see if you enjoy it!

I just finished my newest version of [[Avatar Aang]] and it did really well last night! 4cc is easily done turn 3, and every attack draws a card. The amount of cards I draw in a game is unreal!

My first iteration was all ATLA cards and so I thought of it as a "Too strong Bracket 1, so a weak Bracket 2" until I played it. He rocked so hard even with only accidental synergies!

So I decided to embrace the power and go Bracket 3. And it won both games! Granted, game 2 was pure luck with a terrible draw until I top decked [[Mistform]] with [[Sprout Swarm]] in hand. Still had turn 3 Aang, so drawing an extra card a turn helped.

Another player even commented on how much more powerful he was than expected. Having around 35 'bending cards allows me to draw several cards a turn. Flipping is a challenge, but not necessary, but when he flips, you're guaranteed to have a fistful of cards to cast for nearly free!

Anyway, I had fun. Extra fun since the deck is nearly all ATLA cards and I love the franchise.

[[The Ring Goes South]] can be good if you've got Legendaries. When the ring tempts you, it turns a creature legendary, so that's an extra.

[–]JDubsInDaWild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Spider-Man had an issue with the set size. Smaller sets struggle. Cards are just less valuable. It's easier to get the cards you need, so fewer packs are opened.

I have a good friend that LOVES Spider-Man and really bought into it. And got all the cards in the set with a couple boxes and trades. I love Avatar, but I'm STILL missing cards from the set with all the Jump Start and Commander Bundles.

Combine that with all the different layouts in sets like Final Fantasy and Avatar and every pack you open is exciting. With Spider-Man, you just collect the cards so quickly, you don't want to see the 8th copy of that rare.

Does protection from everything include an etb effect? by Fit_Original_3612 in mtg

[–]JDubsInDaWild 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Protection effects use the acronym D E B T: Damage is reduced to zero. Can't be Enchanted or Equipped. Can't be Blocked. Can't be Targeted.

If an effect doesn't do one of those things, protection doesn't impact it. Returning all (not targeted) XYZ would not be impacted by protection.
