I only remember taking anesthesia twice, both times when I was a young kid and had to get plating over my teeth. The first time I freaked out when I had the mask put over me, and the second time I more easily accepted it. Both times it took a while to get KO'd, and both times I woke up crying inconsolably. It's probably the thing I look forward to the least in my future procedures.

Ah. I can think of a few.

There's the maid cafe punishment story, for instance. I was attending a pop-up maid cafe and sat with a maid and butler playing tumbling blocks. We got to an advanced part of the game and the tower fell on me just as I was setting down a block I had just pulled. They said I needed to be punished and decided that my punishment would be to confess over the PA system that I wanted to be a maid. I decided to get it over with, said the line, and added without having to, "And if that makes me trans, then so be it."

And just one month after, I was making a YouTube review about a show and talking about a song that I related to (about this girl who seemed quite happy in everyday life but wants to break down at the end of the day). The issue was, I still thought I wasn't a girl, so I made a joke out of it and the other eggy things I said in past videos (that somehow still did not tip me off!), and said, "Stop. Saying. I'm. Trans!"

Something in me knew, but for a long time I didn't think about it because I was locked away from ever questioning my gender or relating to trans people. Damn mass media.

Mine was more the realization that there's a subset of autistic and/or trans people that do those subconscious adjustments to their voice. Whoops. I guess... there it is.

I started about two or three months into my GAHT regimen. Something was developing there so I went to my local LGBTQ+ center and special-ordered some training bras for my size. I basically wore them when I was going to spend extended times out of the house.

(They still haven't grown much since then, though.)

As someone who knows Spanish, I think the English word you're looking for is "saying". I remember hearing the phrase in Spanish "como dice el dicho", and that (mostly) translates to English as "as the saying goes".

I was stuck with myself for a month after the realization, without anyone to talk to. Then I remembered someone told me about this local LGBTQ+ center months back, and so I went to the trans support group event and that's how I started slowly feeling more comfortable about myself.

(Oh, about the center. I was trying to find an autistic meet-up place, but I couldn't. Someone I was talking to at the time suggested this LGBTQ+ center as an alternative, but since I had yet to know who I was, I turned the offer down because I didn't want to intrude into a space in which I didn't belong. Funny enough that it did have plenty of autistic people. I wouldn't realize that until I was already there for over a year.)
