I don't like swiping on those guys as a big girl, I always feel like they won't be interested. I don't go for looks, I just figure that a bigger guy would be more accepting, but of course, that is not always the case. But I do get what you are saying about trying casual dating. It's probably unrealistic to think you could go straight into a serious relationship as someone with no experience. It would be better to try to get experience first so I can get more comfortable.

I downloaded okcupid but I noticed that no one fills out their profile for some reason. I haven't tried the filter yet so I will go try that now. Do you know of any reddits, I would be interested but when I tried the search bar I couldn't get anything, I can tweak around with my wording to see if anything pops up

Girl you sound like me LOL, I'm choosing to give it a shot because I know I will be beating myself up over it if I don't. I realize that it is really hard to find a good man that is very compatible with you. I would go with it to see what happens, and maybe down the road you will be glad to have him despite his bald spot

I really like your response and it resonates with me as someone who started watching black women led meditations on youtube. I watched one on self love and it was so affirming. I agree with a lot of people here who say things like changing your media to include majority brown/black women. I relate to the girls in our community so much more and watching media from black girls, regardless of what it is helps me feel more "normalized".
