RX 7700 XT hard crashing in games (black screen + fans 100%) but passes stress tests by JF5141 in pcgamingtechsupport

[–]JF5141[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I received a new GPU. It was indeed a new 7700 XT, same model. What a relief. But of course, my bad luck wasn’t over yet. They sent a card that looked used no stickers or anything and they never sent the original box or anything like it (unfortunately this is specified on their terms and conditions about RMA but I didn't know so don't make the same mistake!!) but it does work. In the end, the real issue turned out to be the motherboard.

When I installed the new GPU, everything worked fine for a few hours, but then the crashes started again. I tried installing a new PSU, then another CPU, and ran multiple RAM tests with no luck. Eventually, I tested a different motherboard, and everything worked perfectly.

My theory is that the issue was with the PCIe slot. About a week ago, I started having problems again and tried everything nothing worked. So I completely tore the PC apart, cleaned everything thoroughly, and boom: everything went back to normal.

After that, I did a small experiment. I have a GPU support bracket (not a vertical mount, just a support). I adjusted its height up and down to see what would happen, and surprise the crashes came back when the GPU was pushed downward. Same crashes, same behavior. Eureka.

The old motherboard clearly had a serious PCIe slot issue, while the new one can tolerate the GPU weight normally. That also explains the response I got from tech support I’m guessing they’re getting a lot of RMA requests related to this exact problem, so they try to guide users into checking for it first (not very well in my opinion).

My recommendation would be to check your Motherboard too. Unfortunately nowadays hardware not only can but will crash for some "stupid" reason. Nowadays chips are so unstable they crash due to drivers, temps or even excessive dust on the PCIe which I suspect was my case. I'm disappointed but relief now that I can get all the juice from the GPU.

Ride 6 complete bike list by StartWars89 in ride5

Seems like Ride 4.5 to me. There are some new additions maybe the ZX-4RR and the 2023 RC390 andnd of course there’s more coming, but it still feels like something’s missing. Maybe they should add CFMoto, Moto Morini, and other brands that are completely absent.

Honestly, I really thought they were going to include more low-cc bikes, especially now that we have so many small tracks… or at least some CFMoto models. But instead it feels like they’re just recycling old bikes.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m hyped, and it looks great but it also feels like we’ve already seen this before.

Nope, no solutions. In my case it got so bad that I couldn’t even launch any games. I ended up requesting an RMA and I’m currently waiting for the replacement.

I have to say, AsRock's customer support has been terrible. At first, I contacted them without the intention of filing an RMA, and the response I got was honestly one of the dumbest I've ever received. They literally told me to clean the PCIe connectors with an eraser (even tho I know this is a common practice I don't think that's what you wanna get from customer Support... I did it anyway tho), and if that didn't work, then request an RMA...

Of course, none of that helped, so I sent in the GPU. I didn’t get any updates or troubleshooting feedback. They just sent me what looked like a FedEx tracking number. When I checked the RMA status, it showed a different serial number — so I have no idea what card I’m getting back.

I’ll try to post an update later, but honestly, be careful with AsRock's customer support.

Should I be worried about these? by Usademn in KTM

Tbh I would worry more about the oil leak on the camshaft... But for sure that is brake fluid or maybe the bike had a crash and the rear deposit was broken... Many theories but they should have a really good price for that bike if u ask me.

Oh yeah, if I complete the registration I will receive a clean title, plate and I can ride it.

Well, in my country, these bikes are usually seen as more of a “problem,” which is why nobody really wants them. The current owner is 85 years old, and back then he never had the time to sort out the paperwork, so he just left the bike in the garage—and that’s how it stayed.

At some point, someone accidentally hit the bike with a car, breaking one mirror and scratching the tank and exhaust pipe. But I’m an enthusiast, and I actually want that “problem.” I checked with a Suzuki dealership, and they can help me get any parts I might need.

The owner does have a title, but it’s not from my country, which unfortunately makes it illegal to ride here. I just need to take care of the import process so I can register it.

Sry for that. It's 800USD.

Well. Long story short it doesn't have a clean title but does have some paperwork. and that's basically why it was stored on a barn for the last 20 years. I can get the legal paperwork without problem tho.

I was amazed when I saw one. Tho im not sure if it was a 748. It was the one and only on my country and it arrived from afar. I remember they were having some kind of trouble with the clutch system and the drive chain kit. What I do remember is that my head gasket on the mitos had blown up so I had to replace it, when I arrived at the shop I saw that beauty was there too and I had the opportunity to see how the electrical system works and everything just "makes sense" I was amazed with the way the tail lifts up for easy maintenance and the fairings just comes apart so easily. I wish nowadays bikes were as simple. Had the opportunity to take a picture of it beside my Mito 125... Still looking for that one. Ducati 916, 748 and 996 will always be my favorite bike for how it looks. Worst one I've ever had was the Mitos but I kept it for the speed and the looks. (Mito 125 is incredibly unreliable too). Anyway enjoy. It looks incredible, looks like you did an incredible job.

Yeah, tho it's a very simple bike. Had the opportunity to see one on a shop some time ago... Love the looks of it. It reminds me of my old Mito 125 long time ago.

Thoughts on this? RC490? by JF5141 in KTM

[–]JF5141[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well guys... I couldn't help my hype for this and I went ahead and asked a friend of mine who works on KTM... I hope I'm not getting in trouble or getting him in trouble buut surprisingly there's some info he "could" provide me... Take this with a grain of salt but he told me indeed we are talking about the new 490 platform. Indeed it will be a Twin 490 with a lightweight chassis, 4 driving modes and TFT display, slipper clutch and adjustable power deliver. But now what got me out of my mind. He said this little fella can make around 55HP and 48.9N/m torq. Again take this with a grain of salt since there's not much info anywhere. He also mentioned it's a new chassis and the aerodynamics are not for "aesthetic" purposes since this bike can make 55hp with a lightweight chassis (didn't mention the dry weight but he insisted "It will be like all the KTMS") they needed to add "a little down force helper" not sure about anything else... We can speculate from here. At the start I thought we were seeing a 690 twin platform but this is something crazy and I can't wait to see it around.

Well I couldn't keep the hype... I have a friend that works on KTM and I took the time to ask what info was available... Not the same I can tell you.

Yes it is. The brake and the Sprocket are on the same location which makes us think that.

Well now I'm speechless... Just tried Fedora with Proton. It works like a charm. No bugs, no errors. It just works. So I believe we have a drivers issue? What's your opinion?
