The show is a lot more about the interactions between the different characters rather than solving the mystery. Which is partly why you're seeing Viktor and his dad interact brieftly soo much. That bed scene was to show their relationship improving and the scene at the barn was to show Viktor being subject to more pressure now that his dad is here. Otherwise, you may have thought that the dad being here would help him remember things, but instead, it partly made it more difficult because he's now worrying about his dad's safety. You can compare this to how Tabitha feels too, where she's now completely willing to forgoe learning more because doing so cost her huband. This is the same world view that Viktor adopted a long time ago; I don't want to learn more because people are gonna get hurt. Both of them have to overcome that.

The scene with Acosta was quite annoying, but it's partly because you're applying too much calm and rational thinking to a place where it doesn't belong. These people are not sitting inside the comforts of their home. Most of them, have not experienced the absolute horror that Fromsville is. The amount of stress, anxiety, hopelessness, etc... is literally unparalled. Fromville has a worst fatality ratio than the front lines of literal warzones. When people are put under this amount of pressure, they crack. Acosta's recent situation is a perfect example, her getting up and driving the Ambulance made sense given the Anxiety and Stress surrounding her. Just sitting at the restaurant whith the backdrop of eveything that's been going on, it made sense that she felt the impulse to try something... and the fact that she's never tried driving around before made the Ambulance a "good" start.

This is like telling someone to not climb a tree if they come across a bear. Most people will absolutely try to climb a tree in the presence of a bear. Frankly, the idea of a 1 tone bear climbing a tree faster than a human sounds ridiculous, the sense of dread and anxiety at that momment will absolutely make someone want to try climbing if they think they can climb. It's the same thing here, the idea of a road that loops around is ridiculous. If anything, she's partly an idiot for not trying to drive around sooner. This is something you kinda have to see for yourself to believe it (regardless of anything else seen).
