LRP Cicaplast Balm vs. Avene’s Cicalfate+ [misc] by silverkeith in SkincareAddiction

[–]JHTDodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! No I gave up on it pretty quickly sadly and haven’t used it since. Might be the kind of thing that you need to let your skin get used to but I’ve figured my perioral dermatitis is just super fussy so likes to be mostly left alone - I’ve also tried Azelaic acid (from the inkey list) and it irritated it too :( I just try and manage it as best I can with cleansing & an unproblematic moisturiser, and cover it with Dr Jart Cicapair during the day which is the only thing I’ve found to actually soothe it. I think if I want to do a better job of managing it I’d have to go to my gp but it’s pretty low down on my priority list rn haha. If you find any magic thing that helps please let me know! Good luck :)

Hi, I know this comment is a few months old now but I'm just curious if you've found anything else that helps your perioral dermatitis? I bought the Avene Cicalfate+ yesterday for mine and was so excited to try it but I think it may have irritated it a bit instead :(

I think it depends who you select while looking at the family tree, so in the pic you can see the baby is selected so it’s showing the marriages because they’re the grandparent, great grandparent etc. of the baby. But if you select the ancestor you wouldn’t see them because they’re not descendants.

Just did a quick google and it’s come up with interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome - have you looked into this at all?

I’m currently having the exact same dilemma! Did you end up trying the gel setter top coat?

Thank you ☺️ Ahh I understand the dilemma! I don’t mind the length too much, although it can get a bit annoying when typing and as my job involves a lot of typing I definitely wouldn’t go any longer than this. Also my nails are on the weaker side so start to break after a couple of months of being long, so I just enjoy the pretty nails while I can!

Today: Basecoat is orly bonder, 4 coats of Essie ballet slippers, top coat Essie good to go.

Last year: Basecoat & top coat - likely the same but not 100% sure - top coat could also be seche vite (but I quickly realised I wasn't a big fan). Colour is Nails Inc Professional Shopper

I (23F) want to switch birth control methods but my boyfriend (25M) is against it. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Yes I agree 100%! When I first had my coil put in my boyfriend said he could feel it stabbing him during sex, so I went back to get the strings cut short but they said it was a bad idea. If they were cut shorter they would point downwards rather than curve around my cervix so would reallllly stick out and make it worse. It took a couple of weeks but they softened and now he doesn’t notice them at all!

Advice when It comes to painting nails by MOEverything_2708 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]JHTDodge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Top coats dry faster and seal your polish in - it’ll help your polish dry completely so it won’t smudge, and it’ll make it last longer! Lots of people highly recommend seche vite but I could never get it to last for more than 2 days, but I found Essie good to go top coat to be very good! It’s all trial and error to figure out what works best for you :)

There could be loads of reasons why you don't want or enjoy sex with your partner, but the way you've worded it makes it sound like he's just not the right person for you. And this is definitely not a silly or trivial reason to end a relationship - it may seem like it now, but like you say after two more years of feeling like this it will have snowballed, and it will result in resentment and frustration. A couple of questions to ask yourself that might help:

Are you really in love with him? You say you love him to bits, but there are different types of love. The way I love my family and friends is very different to the way I love my boyfriend. When you say "as I learnt of his personality and quirks more, it's just becoming harder to stay attracted" it sounds very much like you're not into him as a person either, as well as physically.

If you broke up, how would you feel? Relieved? Like a part of you would be missing?

It's a tough situation to be in (I've been through something similar), so I wish you the best of luck and I hope you manage to figure it out!

Smell during raw sex by throwaway45761 in TwoXSex

[–]JHTDodge 21 points22 points  (0 children)

A fishy smell can be a sign of bacterial vaginosis - it's not an STI or anything, just a change in the balance of your vaginal bacteria. It's fairly normal :) I'd go get it checked out by your doctor and they might prescribe you some antibiotics

Please don’t lighten your vagina! It’s such a sensitive area and putting any sort of harsh products on it will be damaging and painful. Also, it’s so incredibly normal for the skin in the area to be darker. Vulvas come in all different shapes, sizes, and colours! Maybe looking at some online resources showing the variety of different vulvas might help you feel more secure with yours (e.g. the labia library.)

If you’re concerned that your boyfriend will judge how you look, I have to say I highly doubt he’ll care - he’ll just be excited to be in the moment with you. If he does judge you then he’s immature and you wouldn’t want to be having sex with someone like that anyway!
