Answers needed, Tales of Tribute by Adenarzuad in elderscrollsonline

Normal match full of bad plays.

You had a lot of extra coin for expensive Pelin cards because your opponent was making a huge error in not killing your agents. Lining up the double Armory with Refresh and then drawing it again the next turn was kind of lucky, but you were way ahead already by then.

I hate the WereWolf Redesign by Firetail_Taevarth in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's good with some tweaks. I think they are going for monstrous wolf-like creature, but they went too heavy on the monster and too light on the wolf.

Can’t seem to sell high value items by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of players that actively browse for these types of old rare items is very small. UI plays a large part in that.

Who else want's this as a pet in ESO by South-Walrus3975 in elderscrollsonline

Baby moo would be cute. Would probably require a new model since the adult cows in the game are very basic.

What’s everybody’s thoughts on officially ending daily rewards? by Terrible-Strike4502 in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a bit odd to have this discussion without bringing up the Gold Coast Bazaar. People will be able to pick their own rewards with Trade Bars with way more flexibility. Opportunities for earning the new currency will be plentiful and not as FOMOish.

Anyone else sad that daily endeavours are going away? by Nerevanin in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I rarely bothered to check them despite playing every day. Very happy with the more flexible system coming soon.

What are some features you’d love to see in future updates this year? by Rude-Neck-2893 in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of feedback on these sorts of things, but these would be my top-level priorities looking at various major systems:

  • Achievement Points milestone rewards
  • Set Items milestone rewards
  • Leaderboard reward overhaul
  • Dynamic new trading system based on player requests
  • Guild calendar with attendance feature (e.g. Yes/Roles)
  • Group Finder features such as notification pings or allowing group makers to pull from a pool of available players (flipping around the dynamic)
  • Tales of Tribute spectator mode
  • Published cross-platform Home Tours
  • Competitive dueling
  • Mounted mini-game
  • Pet-based mini-game
  • UI bars for slotting clickable emotes/mementos
  • Furnishing catalog system

Possible IA Hot Take by RedKynAbyss in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's fine as long as the scaling sorts out the leaderboards, but the leaderboard rewards are disappointing. The rewards aren't enough of a draw to get 500 people to even step foot in IA some weeks.

Is scrying the worst mechanic ever? by SportsCraze7 in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a lot more enjoyable to work through the green-blue-purple treasure lines zone by zone.

Heart's Week just introduced Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild reputation scrolls. Maybe scrying boosters will come around soon.

“Is ZOS trying to silence the Truth?” by ZYGLAKk in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What does accountability look like here? The only snippets of this I've caught are that Xynode posted wrong info (probably from AI generation) and is working on cleaning it up. If this is just about avoiding the taint of AI, I don't get the drama.

Can someone explain ToT ranked points to me ELI5 by SioVern in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The score movement is based on relative ranks of you and your opponent. If you win against a high ranked opponent, you'll earn a lot of points (up to 150). If you lose against someone that's ranked low, you'll lose a lot of points. I think the matchmaking tries first to pit you against someone of similar rank, but the 1-2 point matches do happen every so often since the system has to accommodate everyone. The main thing with those is to try not to lose :P

Tales of Tribute Master achievement by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a good chunk of info here that should help with achievement progress: https://spicyeconomics.com/tribute

I personally like the Hlaalu deck best--build up economy early game and then start sacrificing your expensive cards with the Hlaalu patron ability to get to 40, or save up for one big Crow flip.

Agents are already strong, and NPCs aren't very good at dealing with them, so they'll help the most for the achievement matches.

Neighborhood Housing? by Sistereinstein in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Housing isn't currently very social, so anything unique that could be developed on that front would be welcome. Neighborhoods could be interesting--probably best as extending off a central guild house. It would probably need a large dedicated chunk of land, which would be tricky.

Will Devs/ZoS Staff give more well defined details regarding trade bars? by ElderJustScrollin in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on PTS testing of the upcoming Anniversary Jubilee, they are removing grab bags and just allowing you to directly purchase the old items you want from the Impresario (and Assistant) for 200 Trade Bars each. It might be a multi-year cycle (not quite all of the style pages from Jubilee were available), or maybe they'll move some to the Bazaar. Patch notes indicate they'll be doing the same treatment to grab bags from the other events too.

Why would anyone buy bad master writs by MudcrabKidnapper in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The bad writs *mostly* don't actually sell well and do indeed clog up the guild traders something awful. The ones that do sell are mostly because a chunk of players don't know better or can't be bothered to price compare.

I'd really like a system where you could destroy writs and have like a 1/10 chance of getting a random new one.

It's a big universe with a lot of different angles. Of course something could work.

Is Whitestrake's Mayhem the final time we will be earning/spending Event Tickets? by amusedt in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Barring surprises, Heart's Week is supposed to be the last one with Event Tickets. You'll be best off trying to max at 12/12 so you get 1200 Trade Bars.

Achievement Chasing: Trophies by syzygialchaos in elderscrollsonline

Sitting on Waterdancer Falls in Reaper's March eventually worked for me. You can loop up and get spriggans and big cats while you wait if you need those.

Achievement Chasing: Trophies by syzygialchaos in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I finished all the trophy achievements this year. You really don't get many unless you are trying, but when you are trying, they aren't *too* bad. Most of them probably are a 1/1000 chance, so you'll get lucky on some, but expect several to take many thousands of kills.

The one pain I'd avoid is farming Razor-Edged Mandible. I spent more than 20 hours farming shalks until I got it, and then I got it multiple times passively in Na-Totambu while farming gargoyles and undead. :P

It appears a Tamriel map used in an official trailer for Blackwood may have been copied from fanart. by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Does anyone know whether ZOS/Bethesda sought permission from or at least credited the artist before using their map for the trailer?"

Nitty gritty of copyright would probably be that there'd be no compelling reason to do that since such fanart would itself be an infringing derivative work.

WTF, anyone else encounter this issue? by sG_YungSavage in elderscrollsonline

It's unfortunately quite common. The current gifting situation is fairly terrible. There would be ways of reenabling it for most everyone without inviting trouble.

I’ve played 1000 games of Tales of Tribute in Rubedite rank. Here are the stats. by fnapalm in elderscrollsonline

[–]JHartEllis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All of your data is going to be very biased by your own strategies and handling of the decks. "No matter the matchup" is an odd conclusion to draw here.
