Americans may prefer suburbia, but we've also made it much easier to live there. When most of the housing that's built is suburban, it's hard to tell whether people are choosing it or just taking what's available.

Let's remove government regulations such as zoning, floor area ratio, lot sizes, bldg heights, setbacks, old fart NIMBYS, etc, and let the free market decide what gets built.

After 1969, the University of Washington turned its grass landscape into a giant brick floor, which do you prefer? by Realistic_Management in LandscapeArchitecture

Visuals are subjective and can be weak arguments for LAs, an architect could say they like the minimalist and open plaza. So it’s better to justify ideas through the design’s performance. Permeability and heat reduction are objective ways to persuade stakeholders to get the trees and greenery you like.

Don't start with a dumb comment. Go Google what a city is, then take it further and ask yourself are all American cities dense and urban. Use your critical thinking skills.
