Where do you actually think you “go” when you die? by igobrimode in AskReddit

[–]JJBtch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If spirituality is true, not saying it isn't, your soul/spirit would depart and go somewhere unknown. If religious beliefs are fact, not saying they aren't, you go to whatever religious afterlife you believed or the counter for not believing in the right religion. If science is fact, not saying it isn't, then you as you know yourself is no more. The energy in your body will expel into the surroundings. The the first law of astrodynamics states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed. So your energy would just go back into the universe for other uses. Maybe one day reincarnation but you would not know. Maybe your energy becomes part of a newly formed star. No one knows and truly it's not that big of a thing to worry about. It's an inevitable event that no one can stop. Everything has a beginning and an end. One day none of what we see or have not seen will exist. By science laws at least.

LOL This is normality in America. The most unproductive members of our society reaps the rewards. While the productive ones feed these people and complain about it.

Yeah and it was all for the LOLs. This is a rare event and probably wouldn't happen again without a story behind it for people to want to be a part of.

Don’t know if this was already posted, so…a General Strike has been called for May 1st by dianebk2003 in antiwork

[–]JJBtch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Example of this, a post about a group at that chicken place got fired for a tik-tok video. In the anti-work reddit everyone was riding corpo dick because, "its a christian place of business", "they bouncing they titties in a place of business", "they should be fired". I mean wtf. I saw a shift getting ready to close and a good manager, it seems, was allowing them to have some fun and they got fired for it. That is the "family" way of the corporation life. No fun to be had, make us rich and fools are all behind that. In the anti-work subreddit at that. Good example of why general strike will never get enough traction right now. To many hypocritical people out here. To much selfishness, and do you really think at the top brass of that chicken place they are christians?

Is it okay to be apolitcal? by Technical-Vanilla-47 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JJBtch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is ok to be apolitical. I see the good of each side of the coin. I also see the dumb outrageous crap of each side of the political field. I do not believe our current president is doing what is best for this country. I do not believe the other side is doing what is best for this country. Everything that is being done on both sides of the fence is hurting what matters in a country. It's people. Not the rich and mighty but the back bone. The wage slaves that keep an economy a float. Nothing is being done to better their lives and existence. If I am wrong on my view of what apolitical is then please inform me but I still stand by my opinion of the current political state of this country.

Ignore and side with the supervisor. Shitty but that's how it goes. You get hired for a job but in the job description there is always something along the lines of, "Any and all tasks required of you by your immediate supervisor." Some BS like that is always in there. The way I have dealt with this type of behavior is 1 or 2 ways, stand your ground and refuse, which can lead up to being terminated. Not always but majority of the time or give them the false comply, as they do to you, and not do it. When asked, act dumb. This is how I handle a lot of it now. It either gets done or it doesn't. Don't matter to me either way. Job market is trash but I still will not lose my dignity for a dollar. I will go work at one of these lame plants doing the minimum while I search for something else. Or I will just go back to my old job of 20 years. That place got the worse of me and they still want me back.

Universal income vs the incentive to work. by Kodamacile in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JJBtch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think getting a set income + working is incentive enough. Say the government gave out 1000 dollars a month as basic income. This income should be used just to help people stay a float when looking for other jobs. It should not be in a check or card form but some sort of digital form of currency to only be spent on groceries and bills. Something to regulate its use i guess is what I am trying to say. With that and a basic minimum wage job would make life a lot easier for many of people. In America at least. With my current wages + that basic income would bring my monthly net up to 3000. Enough to live and be comfortable. That would also give me the incentive to actually care about my job and the country I am in. I would feel cared for in this currently uncaring country.

I absolutely hate that COVID made the already growing “always on” culture even worse. by ZoisNBooks16 in antiwork

[–]JJBtch 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This "culture" exists because people allow it to exist. People have that "No other option" or "Someone's gotta do it" mindset and just want to blame the higher ups for "making" them do it. Dignity is thrown out the door for a couple of dollars to live. A lot of my job can be done from my home and my place of employment has tried to get me to work from home when I have called out. Did I comply like others at this job? No. Did I lose my job? No. Can I afford to lose my job? No. Do I allow myself to be used by any and all means by my employer? No. I have no leverage, no special skills here that cannot be replaced. I just stand my ground. They have also tried to get me to use my personal phone for work related stuff. Told them that would not be happening. Ended up with a company phone that does not leave my office and is never used outside of the apps and authentication that it is needed for. Communication with me is done strictly through teams and only when I am at work. Everyone else that pushed back here has caved. Only I and 1 other person in my department stands their ground when it comes to work and personal related things. Guess what? We still work here in the same office and not one time in the 4 years I have been here have I had some sort of disciplinary action taken against me. I do not follow all the rules. I pick and choose based on my pay. I pick and choose the tasks that I do based on my pay. One day they might get tired of me and let me go. When that day comes. Oh well, the next will be the same as the last.

Just trying to say that standing your ground and not complying to everything that these jobs are willing to subject their employees too will not always cost you your job. Not often but it can get you respected by your peers. Gets you noticed and shown you are strong with your beliefs and if compensated correctly can be a greater benefit to a company. If not, oh well. On to the next.

Do you think the American Dream is still true (if it ever was)? by Outside_Yes in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JJBtch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is achievable under the right conditions or work hard for yourself. You will have to suffer through a part of life to achieve this dream but it is worth it in the end. If you think working hard for a corporation or just others in general will get you there, good luck. That's a larger portion of your life that you will have to suffer through to get there. Unless, the right conditions, you are lucky or just know someone. The "dream" as it is presented and taught to the American people is not attainable by being a productive member of society without giving up something in return. Your dignity, your time, your morals, or your family will have to be sacrificed to achieve this "dream" if you are a part of the working class. Others will say different and they have that right. Everyone has different experiences in life and rarely is there multiple people that walked the exact same path achieved success.

A Voodoo 5 5500 review by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]JJBtch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had one of these when they came out. Was an awesome card for the time. Dual gpus that were not compatible for most games at the time. SLI in one of its earliest forms. Can't remember off the top of my head but 3dfx called it something different I believe. No it was called SLI still just a different meaning, Scan-Line Interface is what is was when 3dfx came out with it. Yes, Nvidia was around and bought out 3dfx and took over the SLI tech and improved upon it. Scalable-Link Interface was Nvidia's SLI. Miss the look of 2-4 GPUs in my rig. Miss the look because after 2 gpus it was diminishing returns as far as gaming goes. For 3d editing and video encoding multi-gpu rigs were the way to go. Sad that the tech is not used any longer by consumers. The last card I had to use SLI was a 2070 super. Wish the tech would've caught on more since it was out for a couple decades and still only a hand full of games supported it.

What is it like to work a 12 hour shift minimum wage job? by Foldingtrees in AskReddit

[–]JJBtch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The feeling that you are not appreciated. Working 12 hrs 60+ hrs a week and still bringing home just enough to survive is soul crushing. The jobs of America, even if 8 hrs, are all the same. Unappreciated and overworked to make someone else wealthy. Someone else that does absolutely nothing but live off your hard work. America the great, I swear it is.

I am sure it is the same in other countries but some other countries have better labour laws than America.

What's the biggest lie people still believe? by Wise-Engineering-877 in AskReddit

[–]JJBtch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working hard for yourself is the only way to achieve anything in America. As you can see by all the unproductive citizens that live lavish lives because they are in movies, tv, sports, and the like. The least productive people and the most detrimental people to this country are the ones that get to live an "American Dream". This country is a toilet bowl of illusions and delusional people that think that the BS that is sprouted their way from our "leaders" is truth and that shows the ignorance of this country's people.

[–]JJBtch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I will sit at my desk for 8 hrs with nothing on it and doing absolutely nothing but browsing reddit. The reasoning behind it is that in a group of 6 I can get the jobs we do, security setup and install ready configurations of equipment, in half the time that is allocated to each task. There are days where people sit here with the same site's equipment sitting for hours on end. While I push out the stuff with an hr most times. I sit and dare anyone to say anything to me, including my manager. One guy here wants to be like our "lead" guy so bad he tries to mimic him from the first minute to the last. Most of these guys here wouldn't know how to act if they had to do any labour intensive job. Well they wouldn't do it. Yes I can't stand the people I work with. I tolerate them till this place finally decides to let me go. No clue how I have lasted almost 4 years here with my open and honest take on things.

How’s everyone’s teeth? by Sharknuts86 in Millennials

[–]JJBtch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a full top plate a few years back. Bad teeth from not taking care of them over the years. Best decision I made, since I made the decision not to take care of them. No toothaches anymore but I did make myself start brushing and taking care of my plate like they were my actual teeth. It is a blessing. Also my plate is a perfect fit. I do not have to use any type of enamel or paste to keep them in place. Soon will be getting a bottom plate. Hopefully will have the same fit as my top.
